Latest Check-Ins

Stayed one night and paid 30,000 for two adults/one child. Marco is just the sweetest. We did not call ahead. Marco met us at the gate with his truck and led us to the camping area. It feels like a maze when you first arrive. We had some shade at camp, which was very helpful for the heat (still adjusting to coming down from the Peru mountains). Nice sink for washing dishes and doing some laundry. Shower was good with hot water. Note that there isn’t a lot of light in the shower area at night, so you may want to shower during the day. Caspian really enjoyed looking at and playing with all the unique desert plants.

We loved this place! So thoughtfully set up for any type of overlanding. Clean bathrooms, hot water, well laid out. And the hosts are very charming. Although we didn’t have the opportunity to try the outcome, we were fascinated by the solar cooking for tonight’s lucky guests!

Like the comments have said this is an amazing campsite with everything you need. Nice facilities, even an tower to watch the sunset and sunbeds to look at the stars. What's makes it perfect is that Marco and Coco are super friendly and nice people. Marco even kindly helped us repair an issue with the power supply of our fridge. if you are passing by, this is the place to be.

What a beautyful spot in the desert. We sent the host Marco an app before arriving and he and Coco gave us a warm welcome. The maingate is 2.5 meters high but there is a different gate for higher cars. The place is well maintained. Nice and clean bathrooms, toilets, an outdoor shower, barbecue facilities, hammocks, anything you need. The road next to the place is a kind of noisy and the neighbours have barking dogs, but I definately would recommend this place for a few days relaxing. Small restaurant on the site (ask one day before if tou want to have diner). Paid 20.000 a night for a camper and 2 people.

Report Check-In

We arrived in early evening and there were no other campers, it all looks very nicely laid out but is incredibly dusty and is close to the road.
They wanted CLP 30 0000 for two people and our camper - we left!

Report Check-In

Camping is reopened, all very nice and clean.

Report Check-In

We contacted beforehand and they told me that they are undergoing maintenance until 11 March!
Sounded very friendly- might be worth a stop when open again!

Report Check-In

We contacted them to let them know we’d be coming, as recommended by previous reviews, and they told us they are currently not accepting camping. Definitely call before you go.

Coca and Marco are the best and their camping is amazing. They used to camp a lot, so they know exactly what a overlander wants and needs. Perfect showers, nice big spaces and a lot of cute details. If we would have to design a campsite, it would exactly look like El Huarango ecocamping. So definitely go here to cuddle with the dogs, watch the beautiful sunsets and just simply relax. We'll definitely visit again!

If you happen to be in the ares this is a totally unexpected, charming place. Beautiful campsites for tents and RV’s. Home made tables and benches. Perfect and clean bathrooms with hot showers. Kind host that has good advice on places to visit.
Not cheap at 17000 for 2 in a truck camper but worth it after several days of wild camping.

Wow, so glad we decided to come here.
This place is a rustic ecocamping but it has been set up beautifully. We were assigned a camping site with nice tree shade, table+seats and grill, close to the WC and outdoor sink.
Restrooms are clean and have TP and soap; shower is perfect HOT and with liquid soap too!
Coca and Marcos are just the best - they not only gave us recommendations about nearby places but also held very interesting conversations about their place and local food. Their dogs are the sweetest!
Didn't have a chance to taste their food but the menu looked great (15k CLP p.p.), and everything they cook they do it in their solar kitchen, so it's an interesting spectacle to see.
They have lamas as well.
They really deserve their 9+ on Booking!
Price as of September 2018: 17k CLP per camper.
.

Great place. Stayed on the camping for one night. Got suprised by the hygiëne and set-up: the campsite is very well done and super clean. 10/10!!!

This is a very charming property and Coca and Marco are amazing hosts. They have a few cozy rooms as well as a well manicured campground, including a couple overlander sites, great bathroom facilities, WiFi at reception, good breakfast. Highly recommended!

Report Check-In

Marco and Coca are very welcoming hosts.
Marco had a lot of information about what to see in the area and explained as a geologist how the area was formed. Coca helped me a lot with my sudden shoulder problem and gave me some natural products. A big help!

The bathrooms are very clean and spacious and beautifully designed. The shower hot!

Definitely a great place!!

Beautiful campsite in a salar. The ground is covered with cracked salt flakes and ancient salt grass. 12,000 pesos per night for camping. Motor homes may pay more.

The parking spaces have limited shade from Huarango trees and spectacular sunsets. No electricity and no WiFi at the sites, but there is WiFi at the reception and cell service is decent (Claro).

Clean bathroom and hot water. The water heater is located on the northeast corner of the bathroom. One guy claimed to have turned it on, but I don’t think he actually knew where to find the switches. Another guy pointed them out. FYI.

Coca and her husband Marco are friendly hosts and Coca is an amazing cook! Laundry facilities available, no charge to wash by hand, 7,000pesos for the machine.

If possible, they would prefer you to contact them in advance. Their mobile, also good for WhatsApp, is: +56 9 81299221. Marco speaks English.

Fantastic campsite with luxurious cabins too. Everything is designed with creativity and imagination using recycled and repurposed materials...everything from railway ties to can ring pulls, to old cinema seats. Every campsite has a fire pit and there are communal areas for washing clothes and dishes. They have a couple of solar ovens and Coco is a great cook and offers breakfast and dinner. She also mixes a delicious and large Pisco Sour.
A group of llamas and alpacas roam the large and uncrowded site. Bathrooms are spacious and spotless. There's wifi around reception. We stayed 6 nights and toured the area, Pica, Iquique, Humberstone, geoglyphs, etc.
We stayed in our camper van and it was 16,000 per night. Well worth it.

Beautiful place. Now have a site for rigs. Every site has bbq and tables. Clean bathroom with hot showers. Everything top quality and high standard. Eco, therefore no power at site. Second entrance for higher rigs. Owners appreciate a short message before you arrive.

Extremely nice camping in the middle of the desert. During breakfast we were joined by alpacas and lamas. Mostly campsites for tents with fireplace and communal outdoor kitchen ( no gas). Very clean toilets. One little downside : next to the road.
