Boat From La Pavona to Tortuguero | Tourist Attraction

The price for the shuttle boat to Tortuguero is 3000 colones pp one way, large luggage costs extra. First regular boat in the morning to Tortuguero leaves at 6am, the last one returning leaves Tortuguero at 3pm.
There are various options to make boat tours through the national park, they start in Tortuguero. There is an office of Asoprotour here in la Pavona (open until 4pm), where you can book such a tour. We opted for the canoe tour and it was a wonderful experience (payed 25$pp).

One way costs 4000 col now. Park entrance in Tortuguero is 15 USD and a boat ride over there (best way to see wildlife) is 7000 col pp + the park ticket. So you can schedule your boat ride in Tortuguero early in the morning and still use the same ticket to see the park. I would ask a hostel for a guide. I asked directly at the Guide Association by the port, and I was asked for double the price. Once at the Hostel, got one for 7000 col. My experience though...

The road is now paved all the way through. Prices little bit unclear, we paid 3000 pp for the boat. No luggage, we just did day trip.

we arrived here and checked out the private boats too.
public boat is 1600+1000 per bag
private is 2000 with unlimited bags and a lower travel time

All info still correct. The last 10km to La Pavona are dirt road, the last 5 of which are rough, but doable even in a Ferrari.

Here the boat leaves to tortuguero. One way 3,20$/1600C. No extra charge for dogs. The time of the boat ride depends on the water level. It took us about 1 hour in June. It's a nice boat trip and if you are lucky you see some wildlife. The boat from La Pavona leaves at 7:30am, 11am, 1 pm, 4:30pm. The boat going back from tortuguero leaves at 5:30am, 9am, 11am, 3pm. Parking at the parking lot 10$/night, we paid 6$ for half a day (the time we were in tortuguero). The green turtles are at the coast in July. The leatherback turtles around March.
