large and smooth surfaced. any type/size of rig, will be fine with leveling blocks, I lived without them. decent Verizon LTE, no signs and a river right behind the parking spots. very low traffic area at night
I stayed here last night & it was amazing. I was originally going to stay at peaceful valley campground for $25 bucks but it was completely packed & im so glad because this little spot was better. Nobody pulled next to me the whole 24 hours ive been here so far. Not alot of ppl passing through on a Thursday night either. Got some cool night sky shots. Oh also lots of red ants during the day be careful walking barefoot!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Fine pull-off. Woke up to howling winds, snow, and a few semi's depositing their loads of gravel next to me.
Report Check-Innice large pullout. one other car there. small about of traffic. great for stars as mentioned in the description
Report Check-InEndroit sympa au bord de la route et de la rivière ! Plutôt calme. Pas trop de passage. Idéal pour visiter les Rocky Moutains le lendemain (environ 35min de l’entrée du parc).
Report Check-InLOTS of flies and fire ants. not really a spot to enjoy sitting outside or cook outside the vehicle.
the good: traffic isn't too bad, nice sounds of the water to sleep to, and good cell service with Verizon.
Report Check-InGreat place to stay in a close proximity to Estes Park. Good Verizon service and showers between town and the site. Would definitely reccomend
Report Check-InReally nice spot in the mountains with easy access. It’s a large pull off next to a river and it’s so beautiful here. I think I’m the only van here, and there’s no traffic, maybe one car goes by every hour or so. I have LTE and am posting this from the spot. Gonna be hard to leave this one in the morning!
Report Check-InGood for a night, close to road but hardly anyone driving by all night.
Report Check-InJust a little bit of a larger pull off of the highway. Pretty secluded only because of the lack of people driving through! Other than that not a lot of privacy. River was gorgeous but you have to climb over some rocks to see it. I wouldn’t stay here for any longer than 1 or 2 nights but it’s a great place to stop if you are passing through! We were the only rig parked there. Strong version LTE signal
Report Check-In*** EXTREME CAUTION *** Must be used if you visit this spot on your way to somewhere else -you may not want to leave!
So it's just a long, wide spot at a curve along CO-72, next to, literally right next to, the Middle St. Vrain Creek, about 2.8 miles south from the intersection of CO-72 &7.
There are no signs, of any kind, at this location. It's along side a road, so there is road noise, mostly cars - did not see any semi truck while there.
When I visited there was a large pile of dirt, grading, at the south end. Obviously this location is, or could be, used by CDOT for road maintenance so in that regard it may not always be available. And while I joked at the beginning of this post about using extreme caution, it is alongside a creek, so flash flooding could be a concern. pay attention to the weather whenever you travel
Report Check-InEven though this is a large pull off on a highway, it is SO nice. Beautiful river, rarely cars passing by come night time, the sound of the river drowns out any traffic noise. 3-4 bars Verizon.
