Description

Costs 50 bolivianos for a permit of circulation not sure if genuine or we got ripped off
Jan 2020: Aduana showed us an example and said it was mandatory. 50bol seems to be the going rate.

They don't give the circulation permit here. You can only request it at the traffic police in front of immigration.

went here to do the permit but they sent me back to the border. direct at the border there is another police building with flags in front. the policeman explained to me that the paper is mandatory and I could either get a permit for the area of Santa Cruz for 50 or for all Bolivia for 100. seems to be more of a regional thing that they want to see it at the control points so probably the one for Santa Cruz would be enough but I got the one for whole Bolivia and the next check point was super fast and easy. didn't get any further yet but I prefer this over arguing even with the doubt of that paper being legit.

Friendly guys did paperwork for us for 50bol. This is mandatory, but some police may charge more....you don’t want to get stopped without it. Ask Aduana to show you an example.

All the guys were napping at their desks when we arrived. We stayed all smiles and tried to say we were going the more southern route avoiding cities just trying to get to Peru. In the end he still tried to say 100 bolivianos but we told him at the aduana they told us 50 so we only have 50 and he said tranquilo and let us go only paying that.

We didn't get the permit there. Maybe because it was Saturday. Had to go to the police in Puerto Suarez.

After your 2 hours at immigration & 2 hours at the aduana you then have to go to a police station here for further vehicle paperwork checks and a permit of circulation. Cost 50 bolivianos no reciept so probably a pocket money job
