Large gravel lot often used by fishermen. Under the bridge but far enough away that it's not noisy. Literally on the river. Great location for one or many vehicles. No indications of prohibitions against overnight parking.

Addendum to my prior post: spent 1 night no problem. Was going to try for 1 more, as i really liked this spot, but got the knock from sheriff at 2pm. Glad they came early. Sheriff not particularly friendly. I headed 4miles north to cracker barrel.

Labeled as "canal branch parking and trailhead" on Google maps. NOTE!! coming southbound, you will need to use both lanes to make the turn off the highway (if in a big rig)!! Evidence of many campfires (fire rings). Locals come by to fish; there were multiple groups/singles while i was here. One of the quietest nights ive spent, surprisingly. There is a small amount of traffic/bridge noise. There is a cracker barrel up the road as a backup.
Follow Google Maps to Canal Branch Parking & Trailhead. It looks like a driveway. There is room to park there or go on around under the bridge to large dirt parking area. Looked a little rough for my taste so went across bridge to boat parking.
