We asked about the campground in the hotel next door but he told us the campground is closed. Make sure you contact the owner before you arrive.

Great place to stay! Daniel the owner is a very welcoming host, a fellow traveler from Jalpan who knows Mexico well and if you’re lucky he might be able to take you to try some fresh pulque up in the mountains. The hotel is a nice place to relax, has area for camping or rooms for rent, solar heated showers, patio with outdoor kitchen, and nearby a very good restaurant to eat at called Gus Gus. Great spot with an amazing vibe, I truly love this place! clean well functioning bathrooms, very decent wi-fi, no height restriction to get in the gate. we’re in a small-but-tall van and it’s *perfect*. this would also be a great spot for motorcycle camping as there’s a grill available, and rooms in case you need a break from your tent. lots of comfortable spots to hang out. be sure to contact daniel in advance via his whatsapp so someone can receive you. $200 pesos per person.

Highly recommend that you call ahead. We sat outside for maybe 30 min trying to call, ring the buzzer, or find their neighbor.

We eventually left and headed north to Las Brisas Campground.

Great place to stay in Jalpan, we tried the lake site but it was hard to find a level spot, and it was super noisy on a Saturday. Called Daniel and he promptly opened his space to us. Clean and comfortable space, no other dogs around which was a relief, there's a gate so we felt very safe and clean bathrooms. There's a cooking/eating area as well and the best WiFi we've had so far. Daniel is a fellow traveller so we had good conversation with him. Highly recommended.

We spent - in our 7m motorhome - a week at this clean and quiet place (150p/p/n). Daniel is a perfect host, but might be away on a sales trip. In order somebody is there to receive you, call/WhatsApp +52 441 123 5563 or +52 442 142 2326 beforehand or knock at the adjacent hotel (it's his uncle's place). Daniel speaks some English. He drove us to one of the few traditional Pulque fincas. Pulque is a delicious beverage, if freshly fermented - a must try. Taxi to Jalpan takes 10min, 40-60p. Recommended.

For good food, try Restaurante GusGus (traditional, 400m) and Restaurante Tequila (Ribeye, 2km).

Hotel con habitaciones, sitio para acampar, estacionamiento, wifi y buenas regaderas con agua caliente. Pueden entrar carros grandes.
El sitio es muy tranquilo, está atendido por sus Dueños Daniel y Angélica, son muy buena gente que brindan muy buena atención.
Venden pulque casero de comunidades cercanas, puedes ir con ellos a conocer la ruta del pulque y explorarla con la gente local.

lugar ampliamente recomendado.

Hotel with rooms, camping site, parking, wifi and good showers with hot water. Large cars can enter.
The site is very quiet, it is attended by its Owners Daniel and Angélica, they are very good people who provide very good attention.
They sell homemade pulque from nearby communities, you can go with them to know the pulque route and explore it with local people.
