Mexico
After seeking via iOverlander, I saw in the comments somewhere that someone suggested Casa Verde. I messaged them, but they took too long to respond. In the meantime, we walked past this greenery-covered building with the word 'posada' out front and a phone number. The number did not work so we knocked on the door using their clever door knocker method. Miguel greeted us so warmly! He has three rooms with private baths, all overlooking the valley. There is also a pool. He is an architect and built this place himself - you can definitely tell, there's so much character. You can pull into the parking area, but maybe a 7' height max. There is also a whole floor, again open air and overlooking the valley that is a communal cooking area. About a 10 min walk to centro. I can't recommend this place enough. 600p per night for two people in a single with our dog, a little steep, but so worth it.
FYI, this town has insanely steep hills, we had to put the truck in 4L to get up certain streets.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.
