Something not right?

Description

Few hotels were opened when we arrived in Oyon. We went to El Minero but they were not friendly and was really expensive (80S for a matrimonial)
Then we arrived here, at El Olímpico, and it was perfect for us. Simple but with everything : hot shower, Wifi and they are used to receive cicloviajeros.
We put our bikes on the yard (no strairs to climb !)
Paid 50S for a matrimonial room with private bathroom
Really friendly owners and hostal really calm. We planed to stay 2 nights but finally stayed 3 as we were really in a good place to rest !
Good pollería just next (Kentocky's) and good supermarcket with everything (includind fruits and vegetables) on the main street, near the football camp.

Latest Check-Ins

Nice enough place, the price is still 50 for a matrimonial with private bathroom, the shower was nice and warm for a long time, the room was clean. WiFi is okay for socials. We stayed in room 1 in the new building and we didn't hear any beeping sound whatsoever.
There is a secure parking, there is space for motorbikes but it was crowded with cars so not sure they'll have space for other vehicles. No height restrictions

Report Check-In

Decent spot in Oyón. Very used to having cyclists - our bikes were stored safely in an unused room in the old building.

We knew from the previous comments that we wanted to sleep in the new building, and Kendry asked which side we wanted as soon as we arrived. 50 for a matrimonial. Water seems hotter for longer over here, very pleasant showers. Clean, spacious. Sheets a bit old, pillows past it, but comfy mattress. Internet patchy but serviceable from room 3.

Our only real complaint was that there is a beeping sound that goes off every minute or so day and night, it’s apparently a security camera. We asked if it could be turned off… alas no. We played white noise in our room to drown it out - something we do pretty much everywhere anyway.

Echo what others have said. Nice place, clean, friendly owner. We stayed in old building at the back, router was right outside our door. Small courtyard for bikes or to sit in the sun and phone home. Water heater excellent, hottest shower for some time! 50 soles for two in matrimonial room. If you want somewhere cheaper two others we met were staying at Hostal El Andino (not on iOverlander) for 30 soles for two per night. They said they had a private bathroom but with only a cold shower, there was a hot shower they could access in a shared bathroom.

Report Check-In

Basic, clean hostel. 50sol for two people with private bath. Lady first asked for 60sol but I showed her the last write up in Overlander. I’ve reverted to this negotiating technique twice and it works. Our first night was in the main building at the far back. The water heater takes a long time to heat up and and the room is small and windowless. The WIFI did not work in the back. We had to stay in Oyon two more nights because of a bout of food poisoning and we asked for a quieter room that didn’t have construction going on overhead. We were moved across the street to a bigger and more modern room with a large window. WIFI was good in this room. Bikes were stored in the back courtyard of the main building.

good and cheap place ro take a days rest after one week camping in the mountains!!!
nice room, comfortable bed, private bath, hot shower , Wifi.
i paid 40 soles per night

Report Check-In

25/s for shared bathroom, 40/s for private (one person). WiFi didn’t work in my room but I was near the back of the building. Spare for bikes in a little yard. Hot water. Clean room and comfortable bed.

Report Check-In

What was described. Wi-Fi only works in lobby for us. Turn hot water tank on it takes a bit to get hot but we had 20 min of hot water or more. Garage for most any rig. 60s private room and bath.

Report Check-In

Decent and clean. Has hot water and ok wifi. Near the center of town. Good for a day or two.

Report Check-In

We don't know why but we got a room in the new building across the street (room 1) and it was really nice! Simple with a big window but clean with a great hot shower!

Report Check-In

stayed here 3 nights to cure from my diarrhea, friendly people, rooms okay (did not have a window, was quite a fresh/cool room), water very hot

Report Check-In

Okay after a long day of riding. Hot shower did not really last for too long in the matrimonial room (first floor) but bed was comfortable, room has a little desk/chair and cable tv. We brought our bikes inside our room and used our stove to cook in the little courtyard.

50s a night.

Report Check-In

Basic but clean and good for one or two nights. You can park your bike in the back garden.

Mercato municipal is around the corner for breakfast, lunch and grocery shopping.
