Hard to find. I wouldn’t recommend it. Ended up in someone’s back yard.
Report Check-Inno bad vibes detected. i drove around a bit and found a few pull outs. one nice big spot was taken by a car abd tent. some of the roads are a bit bumpy and have dead ends without a spot to turn
Report Check-InA pleasant sloping pine forest but the parking spots we saw were small and steep. We drive a 21foot (6.5 meter) Promaster van. We ended up on a flat turn out next to the dirt road. No views through the trees though quiet. A few locals drove through in the evening and one stopped warn us of the drought and fire danger. We were parked on dirt so we got his approval.
A pleasant enough spot for one night but a long uphill drive for not great parking.
Attempted to find this place but the roads got confusing. I ended up at a site with a beautiful overlook of Frenchtown. Made it with a 4WD vehicle and a teardrop trailer. Beware there are not many places to turn around as you come up. The drive would be a little bit difficult (but not impossible) for low clearance vehicles.
Report Check-InTaking Roman Creek Road north of Frenchtown get you into a series of for service roads that are just identified by five digit or six digit number, however they are all within the national forest and therefore open to dispersed camping, the only signage indicates restriction for shooting guns near residence.
Nice condition dirt roads, easy for any vehicle, however with hairpin turns I doubt a big rig would want to come up here. There are lots of beautiful spots just off of the forest service roads, tons of beautiful wildflowers here in June, saw a couple of deer. 4 bars LTE on Verizon.
many spots have informal fire pits, however there is a sign on the way in that says outdoor burning requires a permit.
