Description

*Seasonal Closures.

You must be in designated campsites which are numbered (16 in total). Stay up to 16 days.

It is an OHV-use road/loop. Roads are rutted.

Edit on 2022-Sep-06 in good weather: The road is in pretty decent condition. I had no trouble in my 2wd 24-foot sprinter van.

This place is beautiful and amazing. Right outside of Bryce Canyon. We used spot #2. It had a fire pit

Report Check-In

Arrived late. Found a place to tent. Stayed for one night.

Report Check-In

Nice forested area, not a lot of spots for the number of people that want to stay here. Nevertheless, we grabbed a spot two nights in a row after having dinner in town. The road is rutted but you can drive on the humps between the ruts so it is easy to navigate. Would not recommend coming here when the road is truly wet, I imagine you'll get stuck very easily.

Camping is legal in this area. USDA Forest Service posted “Camping Permitted in designated sites only”
There are 26 designated lots, parked with a post. (Photo attached)

Came in off 63 at FR1173 before the BCNP sign and drove the whole FR1174 loop counter clockwise before settling at site #2. The road is rutted in some spots being an OTV trail, but for the most part was easily traversable. Our fully loaded 2-wheel drive sprinter had no issues. Most of the sites on the back side of the loop were full - fifth wheel trailers and smaller campers. When OTVs aren't driving around and kicking up dust it's quite peaceful.

Nice quiet place to camp, spots are spaced very far apart so it feels like you're really in nature. Also means when it's busy you have to drive very far from the main road to find a spot. Okay in my 2wd transit but had to take some spots very slowly.
I wouldn't go far into the site during rainy conditions.

This is Spot 1 of 26 designated numbered campsites. Find the restrictions and map of the spots posted at the parkinglot before entering the forest. It is a dirt road to come in and we made it with our 25 foot Motorhome. We had a quiet night and enjoyed it here.

Report Check-In

This place is closed in winter, so you can go a the Tom Best Spring BLM at 10 km on the Hwy 12 west, he is open when we are stay.

Report Check-In

Very convenient location, no access issues using a 2WD campervan. I arrived a little bit after 6:00pm on october 20 and only 2 spots were left. It was quite cold in the evening.

Report Check-In

We loved staying here! It was dry while we stayed here and the road was very drivable with our car and skoolie, providing we steered clear of the ruts. It appears that rains (snowmelt?) cause streams to run downhill, sometimes in the roads. It looks like the roads can get muddy. The above is the only possible downside here. It’s close to Bryce Canyon National Park, which after paying, gives us access to fresh water to fill our tank and sewer dump. We saw very little traffic on the road by our campsite. Plenty of stores and laundromats not too far away.

Report Check-In

This was so nice. I had 2-3 VZW bars and was able to do my 4-5 hours of work in the open field to right of gate entrance. Easy access. Not too rough in my duely. Totally beautiful. Would stay here again.

Report Check-In

As described. Quiet & convenient area, roomy campsites. LOTS of coyotes around at night so be aware if you have pets. We drove the whole loop checking out the different sites and road was definitely doable for big heavy vehicles or low clearance 2wd cars. The roads are flat, only issue could be deeper mud, but it had rained heavily 3 days prior and there was no mud for us. We found the sites closer to the main road were a little more treed in and we preferred that, but if you wanted to stargaze the sites in the #20's had more sky. Bryce Canyon is 9100ft above sea level so be prepared if tenting, it was MUCH colder at night than Zion, Lake Powell, Capitol Reef (which we visited before & after Bryce). High of 65f / 18c and hit freezing temps at night (Oct 4 and 5).

This place was great! make sure to find the "Designated Campsite" spots. We stayed in #2. You can enter near the Park sign, but it is a lot longer that way. Enter from the dirt/gravel road north of that. As others have said, at least 100 yards between sites. Very private! We came here because Sunset was full for RVs and the ranger suggested we come here. It is run by the US Forest Service

WOW! This place is awesome! 26 sites in the area! Stayed in #2!

Less than 5 minutes to Bryce Canyon NP entrance!

Report Check-In

Nice quiet spot (I'm on number 2, there are 26 of them) Even though the park's campsites are almost full and super crowded, there is no one here. The spots seem to be about 100 yards away from each other. The road was no problem at all for my 24 foot sprinter van. The road may be an issue in bad weather because of mud, but not because of clearance or steepness. Three bars of Verizon 4G.

Report Check-In

Great dispersed camping! Designated campsites only.

Report Check-In

Nice place for free, right out of the Nationalpark. Plenty of space. Many sites were still available and we arrived in the afternoon. But we ended up with a mouse in our van after this place.

Report Check-In

You can now camp in Dave’s Hollows! The catch is that you have to be in designated campsites which are numbered. Stay up to 16 days.
