...the place to be! If you want to know details about whats live in Africa join Uli. He is a great Guide taking you to fantastic places. We went to Lago de Chicamba and had a great day. Also in culinaric questions you can trust him. I wanted to stay for a night end up spending 4. I had a great time and learned a lot about country and people.

Ulli is a great host. Flat, grassy lawn to park. 600M per person. Facilities as per previous posts.

As per previous reports a great place for a stopover. We were able to find it using Google maps plus some help from the kids nearby. Ulli is lovely and welcoming.

A perfect stop on the route up to Tete. Ulli is a warm and welcoming host - we used his equipped outdoor, covered kitchen and he arranged a couple of local beers for us to enjoy after driving the long and very bad N1 road! The garden is beautifully curated and there’s plenty of room for a 4x4 with roof tent. We slightly got lost finding the exact location so keep in contact with Ulli when arriving, he kindly came and found us! We paid 600mts per person for camping.

Not a real campsite, but a place in Uli's private garden next to Chimoio center. Space for 1 car with rooftoptent or 1 small overlander truck. Can't remember the per-person price, but it was reasonable. Use of the family's spacious open kitchen. Hot shower and toilet to share with the family. Also a room available. Peaceful at night. A very good solution in Chimoio. Uli is a very nice host who likes to chat with his guests. Market for fresh fruit and veg is within walking distance. The user " UpupaFamily" claims on 20.11 22 in an entry that our "Campismo Chimoio" is an informal camping site. This claim is false. We are a registered company that is legally and fiscally registered. Furthermore, it is claimed that the site is not suitable for large vehicles. This claim is also false. We have vehicles up to 14t visiting here. In addition to a 250 square metre site, visitors have access to a lodge, a kitchen with complete equipment and a dining area in a covered outdoor area. There is also an indoor kitchen with refrigerator and a televison room

This is not a Real campsite...more an informal one. Uli is a really nice Host. We Can share his own kitchen outside, and his own bathroom. The place is just OK for one car with two roof tents. Quiet and nice, with lots of flowers in the garden. We paid 600mtn per adult and negociate free for our kids, at the beginning Uli wanted us to pay 400mtn per kid (aged 2 and 7).
Really nice at all for one night when you know the road going to the south will be the worst the day after !

What a beautiful camp spot surrounded by flowers. You stay on green grass in Uli‘s garden and are allowed to use anything of his outdoor kitchen. He has a separate clean bathroom with hot shower. Uli is very helpful knowing the roads and the environment pretty well. He gave us good instructions when to leave main road to reach him relaxed without potholes. We stayed one night and enjoyed the evening with nice chats with Uli. He also helped us to print our e-Visa for Malawi the next morning. If you’re travelling from or to Malawi, Uli is the place to be.

We stopped here for the night, stayed two nights and would have loved to have stayed a few more days. We stayed longer to enjoy the culinary talents of Canina, Uli's wife, whom we accompanied to the market to buy the ingredients for Mataba. She then showed us how to prepare this delicious national dish. Uli told us about the region and all that we could have discovered there with a little more time. But our visas expire in a few days.
Maybe plan a few extra days to enjoy the area, especially if you're coming in the winter.

Do not follow MapsMe to get there, MapsMe guides you there through narrow streets from the northwest, it is better to arrive from the southeast along the hospital.

Nice Campspot in the beautiful little garden of Ulli Fernandes and his family. Really welcoming people! Everything as said before. And hot shower! If you don't find it: It's the house with the number 28 and the blue gate.

Large covered outside camp kitchen and lounge area. Hot showers. Secure parking. Close to market and hospital.
