When we arrived at late afternoon the lake and the flamingos were bathed in light, the mountains coated by dark clouds. A beautiful scenery!
Very good place to watch animals, calm at night.
Superbe endroit au bord du salar pour passer la nuit. Attention en janvier la température est descendue à 0 la nuit.
Report Check-InBeautiful place! Nice view on the Salar and it's laguna full of flamingos. We stayed on the side of the road next to the Salar, not at the GPS point at the crossroad. Visible from the road, but no traffic. Not easy to find a flat spot, we used rocks. We were woken up by the carabineros at 7AM... just wanted to know where we were coming from and where we were going!
Report Check-InLots of flamingos and some Rhea. Beautiful location, windy until the sun set and calm in the morning. We were unable to access this site (which is right at the spring feeding the Laguna and the flamingos) due to a double trench cut by a grader. We found easy access to the salar about 300m further north.
Report Check-Inas described before. we stayed just across the marked spot for two days (hot in the sun) and nights (minus 9 degrees celsius). wind only in the afternoon. many flamigos and other birds. no movistar reception. natural water.
Report Check-InStunningly beautiful cleared area on the shore of the salar. No shelter and quite windy. We bailed when a sandstorm hit while we still had time to drive to a more sheltered place. If you’ve got wind protection though, you can’t beat this spot for the view.
