Latest Check-Ins

Tried to stay here, but got a (very friendly) knock at midnight from a police officer. She told me to leave and recommended me a place 6 miles south the Hwy 101 after a bridge, because that’s out of city limits.

Report Check-In

I've stayed overnight in my Sprinter van many times, most recently in August. There were always lots of other people stopping overnight to rest. This is an official Oregon state wayside with a restroom, and the general rule is 12 hours is allowed. I was one of two vehicles in the parking lot & a city cop aggressively knocked on the door at 10:15 pm. He stated there is no camping allowed in the city & no parking allowed after 10 p.m. I did question him how he could kick someone off state property & he said it's in the city limits, under his pervue.
Do not stop here after 10 pm, not even to use the restroom, because I saw another cop not far away so they're definitely patroling. Fortunately, he did not give me a ticket but he was more aggressive than the situation warranted. Sad to say, the Oregon coast is becoming just as impossible to boondock as California.

Report Check-In

At 1 a.m. a cop walked around the lot and knocked on our window (and everybody else’s too) and told us the park closed at 10 p.m. and asked us to leave.
We stayed at the pullout on 101 just a few minutes away which was totally fine as well.

This place is permanently closed.

Report Check-In

The cops kicked us and about 10 other rigs out of this spot last night around 1030-11ish . Some people who pulled in after us who hooting, hollering and playing music, Im not sure if that anything to do with it but the police said the park is closed at 10.

Report Check-In

Don't stay here. Lots of people stayed right at the beach. A group of wooks showed up smoking up with their doors open and music playing. 3 cop cars showed up and told everyone to leave

Report Check-In

Cop just came by 6:30 pm said rules have changed overnight camping is no longer allowed and by ten pm they’re gunna give everyone the boot! :( @olgabusandus

Nice quiet overnight stay. Stayed on night. Beautiful beach access to Haystack Rock. Park near the road.

Report Check-In

Officer Salinas with knock on your door and bark at you at 3am of you try to stay here a second night to warm you to not come back.

Report Check-In

Awesome spot. Cop said to park at the farthest end near the main street as they are starting to break down on the front area. Please don't be the person to try and park right on the beach front to sleep and ruin it for the rest of us. Wait until morning. Pick up your trash and quiet after 10pm to avoid complaints from nearby homes. Let's keep this place!!!

Update: An Rver had her dog out and it attacked my dog. She was screaming at me calling me names and it was a very unsafe situation. Please don't bring your dog here if they are not okay with other dogs as it's heavily trafficked. Please don't bring yourself around public if you're going to act that way. I'm afraid to stay here now due to this situation and probably won't be back.

More spots like this, please! Perfect as everyone else has mentioned. Arrived around 9pm, tons of space. Slept well worry free!

Report Check-In

Stayed two nights here on the labour day weekend. There is a sign that says no overnight camping but as previous posts have noted, it seems that this place is fine to stay at. The beach is fantastic. There are restrooms (sometimes not very clean… people are pigs). A pub across the street, kitty corner to the park, and MO’s Seafood Restaurant on the South side of the lot. Thank you Oregon State Parks for allowing Vanners to stay here. Both nights were very quiet. Sorry about the pigs making a mess in the mens room… may not have been campers though. Heavily used by day use people as well. I had great sleeps.

Report Check-In

Parking just near the beach. Perfect for one night before/after visiting Cannon Beach. Restrooms, but very very smelly. We were about 15 vans/trailers/RVs staying there last night! Police patrolled at 10pm, said nothing.

Report Check-In

Stayed in this lot for the night with no issues. But warning, this town has extremely aggressive no RV/recreational vehicles anywhere besides this lot. During the day parked at a local park to work on a bench outside. Got a ticket after being parked there for less than 2 hours. I have a small van not RV. Ticket says all RV/recreational vehicles must park in this lot. So dont leave this lot, but if you do just leave town if you have anything besides a car or SUV.

big parking. little playground
place pour big rv. a lot of other van and rv.
no issue, no noice, beautiful place.
the only thing is that a women stop his generator only at 22h and start at 6h the morning just fort watch the tv. please respect the other camper and the town without big noise by generators.

Report Check-In

Perfect spot to park, enjoy the beach and walk in town for diner. Many other vans overnight without being crowed or loud.

Report Check-In

Perfect spot on the beach, as others have mentioned disregard the no overnight sign. Us and probably 5-6 other vans and small schoolies stayed here.

Report Check-In

Can confirm. What a lovely spot this is. Bathrooms, good cell service and awesome beach access. Sign say no overnight but the Ranger said we’re good for 12 hours. We wanted to stay another night but we force ourselves to move along in hopes that others do the same and the spot can stay available for a while.

Report Check-In

Solid spot w plentiful level parking. Ebeach has excellent sunset view and lots of small fire rings.

Sign says no overnight parking but lots of campervans stayed and none of us were bothered in any way.

Fun to see lots of fat rabbits eating grass around the parking lot in the morning. Men’s restroom was smelly but fairly clean considering how busy the beach is.

Report Check-In

As others mentioned, some conflicting messaging as a sign mentions no overnighting. However it is listed on many resources as a state rest stop which would allow overnight parking for up to 12 hours. Stayed here undisturbed for a night along with 5-6 others including some vans.

Yeah this place is cake. We had no issues staying 3 nights. We’d leave during the day and come back around 6PM. First morning work up to State Patrol next to us and they didn’t say a word. The lot gets packed during the day, like overflowing, but clears out around sunset. Gorgeous views and if you didn’t know, fires are allowed on the beach. Great beer selection at the grocery store across the street, also sell firewood and kindling. It was a one of a kind experience seeing that beach filled with fires at night, playing guitar and Sippin some local craft beer staring up at the stars. Will be back for sure.

Report Check-In

Great spot! Tons of other vans and car campers there, also a fifth wheel trailer. Didn’t get bothered at all although we were prepared to get kicked out because of the sign saying “No Parking 10pm-6am” but stayed there until about noon after having coffee on the beach and seeing some cool starfish. Definitely recommend.

Report Check-In

conflicting information on signs here (see images) but several people and myself vans and campers spent the night with no issues. strong Verizon. update: between speaking with other people and the fuzz you are definitely good for at least one night here. if you stay two leave early.

Spoke to the Ranger, and he said 12 hours are allowed, and they are taking steps to formalize this. Pick up some trash if you want this 12 hr allowance to continue! We have to keep it clean!

Report Check-In

Parking is allowed for 12 hours (according to the Park Ranger).

Keep it clean, pick up some trash, we need more places like this!

Wow, just enjoyed a beautiful night right along the Pacific Ocean ! Had a barbecue at a nearby picnic table . ( fab grocery store with wine beer across the street ) We counted 15 Beach campfires at spectacular canon beach ) . No one bothered us ( although there is one small sign posted no parking , we took the chance) . What an amazing spot!

Report Check-In

This place is **technically** a rest stop, and legal to stay at overnight, according to authorities. While it is an incredible spot, it is not to be abused; Park officials are already expressing interest/discontent with the number and frequency of vans.

Please pay the 10$ for parking, and only stay the legal/recommended Single night; especially if it’s on a weekend.

By limiting our impact, and policing ourselves within the community, we can preserve this gem of a spot rather than west out the welcome in the future.
