One of the few spots on Klondike south with good cell coverage. Two great sheltered spots to get out of the wind. Only drawback is you do get some highway noise.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Had one night here. Plenty of room and other campers. Safety in numbers. Short way to Arches NP, beautiful sunset!
Report Check-InAmazing views! Fire pits! Lots of spots! Free! Spent one night Would definitely come back!
Report Check-InStayed at various spots along this road over a two week period in the area. First few are bigger / group areas and from there you can find spots for 1-2 vehicles. Road is a little bumpy in spots but no issues in 2WD mid clearance promaster when dry. Can get windy but some spots are protected. In some spots you can see arches national park.
Report Check-InTons of different vehicles, but lots of space! A lot of the spots have fire rings. Very quiet and peaceful, even with a ton of other campers
Report Check-InGreat free camping! plenty of room. even on a holiday weekend had no issue finding a site. you can see air balloons in the morning!
Report Check-InGreat place to stay for the night! Super close to Arches, felt safe, there were plenty other people but it was also a holiday weekend. The road is pretty rough, I couldn’t make it very far and had to turn around once it got too steep. I would say you probably at least need higher clearance than my civic if you don’t want to worry about bottoming out. I was able to make it to a site close to the highway, I just had to go veeery slow.
Report Check-InGreat place to stay, easy access for a large car :) A lot of space, it was 6 cars here and still everyone had enough privacy.
Report Check-InNice place. Almost leveled. Good signal from AT&T. Not too far from Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park. We spent 4 nights here while visiting the area.

Report Check-InThe road is decent enough for front wheel drive vehicles, I would not stay here if it rains tho. There are multiple spots and you can go in really deep to find solitude. T-mobile 5G works great too. There is some fire pit already made too. Overall, this BLM site is super good
Report Check-InThere are many boondocking spots on Klondike Road. We picked this big spot not far from the highway. There was already a schoolie when we pulled in and a couple of other campers joined a little later. We could hear the highway traffic but it’s not bad at all. The site was kind of sheltered from the road traffic by a small hill. Overall it’s a nice spot not far from Arches and Cannon Land National Parks.
Report Check-InStay here two nights in a row, one night after Arches and one night after Canyonlands. Great free spot! Felt super safe almost no noise, and the sky is amazing. A lot of other people there when we were here. It’s a dirt road so we couldn’t go a lot further with our camper van, but there was some big bus and some rigs. I guess if you have a 4x4 you could easily go further.
After a lot of checking on the app and on the web this is the best spot near the parks.
There is fire rigs and two/three T-Mobile.
A bit hard to find a flat spot but you can manage.
Really cool spot. Stayed here 2 nights. Both times we arrived pretty late in the evening when it was extremely dark but it was not difficult to find a place to set up. Was too windy to tent camp so we car camped instead! Good version LTE signal. Would not recommend walking barefoot because I got a lot of cacti needles in my feet :( But highly recommended if you are heading to arches or hanging out in Moab and want a quiet and scenic place to stay!
Report Check-Inso many spots out here. also very crowded because I think this is the closest free camping to Moab/Arches. spot was fine, big dirt lot, mostly flat, easy to get to. if the first spots are too full and you really want to be a bit further from others, just keep driving down the road and you'll find something
Report Check-Inwe started at the Fallen Peace Soldier trailhead, but we continued further up the road and ended up finding a spot closer to Klondike with better AT&T and Verizon service. all the rigs seemed far apart, so you have some privacy. not far off the highway, but the noise wasn’t bothersome!
Report Check-InGrand County now has a law that prohibits any “cat holes” or disposing of human waste on any public lands. Please look up resources and act responsibly. www.discovermoab.com/poop
Report Check-InI like this spot better than the spot south of town because it has good cell service. 2-3 bars 5g for AT&T. Road noise is minimal. Nice flat parking area and multiple places to post up. Stayed here 4-5 nights in my van (driving out every day to adventure and explore). No toilets/services
Report Check-InFree camp spots on BLM. The further up the dirt road you go, the more secluded you are from the highway. There are other vans/campers today but it was still easy finding an empty spot. Full bars 5G with AT&T.
Report Check-InAmazing spot! There’s other vans nearby but not too close, so it feels really safe. The location is perfect, and I have 3 bars with Verizon. 10/10, will stay here the whole week!
Report Check-InThis is a large, easy to access spot with already established fire ring. The road to get here is a bit bumpy but not too bad. We got here in the dark and left the next morning before the sun came up so I can’t speak to the view, but there weren’t many people around. Highway and train noise but not too loud. Would stay here again!
Report Check-InI camped slightly past this site. Klondike Bluffs is a great place to stay, with views of the La Sal Mountains and red rocks off in the distance. Many other rigs around, but spaced far from one another. Pretty quiet at all hours. It's worth it to check out the Klondike Bluffs 4x4, bike and hiking trails at the end of the road. Strong and reliable Verizon signal.
Report Check-InGood place with strong signal. If somebody knows "Alexon" who stayed here recently and lost some customized ultimate ears, please let us know via insta @itchywheels
Report Check-InGret place for going to Arches and Canyonlands. Fire pits, easy road, and beautiful sun sets. Is also very clean!
Report Check-InGreat place to stay! easy to find level ground. still free! many open spaces and plenty of room. it was 29° last night so make sure your prepared and check the forecast.
Report Check-InWow! Easy bumpy road to many free open spots with nice views and 5G signal. Don't stop at the beginning of the road, keep on until you get the 360 views. No services and no bushes to duck behind so must be self-contained. Lots of flies but still worth it. Road noise not an issue for me. Still free and fun to see the skydivers come down throughout the day.
Report Check-InExcellent area to camp for free, beautiful sunsets and sunrise if you park a little ways from the highway. You can hear the highway from a distance, but still very quiet and peaceful.
Report Check-InLoved this spot :) great cell coverage (2 bars Verizon, and 5G T Mobile). Was able to do multiple zoom calls from this location. Extremely close to Moab, canyonlands NP, and Arches NP.
Report Check-InAs someone who needs cell service for work, this place was a godsend. Views were so nice as well!
Report Check-InOne of my favorite camps in Moab. 4G Verizon, fairly level spots and lots of interesting people around. Klondike Trail for Mtn Biking and Fallen Peace Officer Trail for ATV/Dirtbike trailheads here.
Report Check-InWonderful little spot. Sheltered from sunrise a bit too so you don’t get blinded as early as you otherwise would. Slight highway noice but not bad.
