almost all the marked places in this area now have no camping & no overnight parking signs, moved on to Chicken
Report Check-InLarge gravel parking lot with lots of space. Turn to right to get to creek. Some mud but relatively hard packe. Nice view of hill side and previously burned forest.
Report Check-InI stopped here, but continued on to the Mosquito River spot on the other side of Chicken, AK.
I’m writing this for any eastbound travelers heading into Canada. There are about 3 gravel flat areas (quite large to spread out) further up the road before the border. It’s tough for me to accurately estimate distance, but they’d be on your left side of the road. I ate noodles at one of them and almost stayed the rest of the day. Killer killer views. I saw RV’s parked out there and didn’t see any sign that suggested it to be an issue.
Cheers all! Happy travelin!
Report Check-InWhat a nice surprise it was to find this nice spot because there are not that many on this stretch of the highway (I was regretting not staying in Chicken and I was considering the $10 campground nearby).
Close to but hidden from the road. Right by the river in a big open space.
Dry wood for fire is on the other side of the river.
Lots of moose tracks.
No mosquitoes, thanks to the breeze.
Nice spot near creek, fairly close to road bit not much traffic. Fall colors were great!
