Small, family hotel in San Fernando, Tamaulipas, about a hundred miles after the border heading south. Motel-style rooms around a parking area, a small pool and some shaded gardens and walkways. Clean and comfortable. Parking seems secure, in a gated and walled compound, and is suitable for small vans, pick-ups and motorcycles (probably not RV). 800 Mex$ for a room with two beds and a bathroom. A useful stop if headed south and don’t want to push far on Day 1.

Very friendly staff and the rooms are simple but clean with shower and air conditioning.
You can park your camper direkt at the hotel (max 30ft.) if you rent a room.
On the way to Matamoros we got stuck in a long traffic jam and turned off to San Fernando. We got a room for one night and the motorhome was able to park safely. 800 pesos/night.

Report Check-InLocated in the quiet little town of San Fernando. This town has a dark past but everyone seemed very friendly as I was passing through. Hotel was awesome 👌. Comfortable beds. Ice cold A/C. And hot showers!
