Great independent tour guide Frank organizes all sorts of Amazon jungle tours ( wild camping, lodge, full day tour, …) and accompanies you as a guide.
We highly recommend him! We did a 3 nights / 4 days camping trip (no lodge) deep in the jungle with him and had a fantastic time. He is very knowledgeable, caring and puts a lot of effort to make sure you have a good time. Also he speaks excellent English and is very approachable.
PLEASE try to avoid booking though agencies because they keep 90% of the money and guides are not well paid. By contacting Frank directly you will spend less and the money goes to the right persons instead of agency rip-offs.

We did it as a group of 4 with the agency north of casa del frances. Could bargain it down to 100s per day. We got an amazing guide, elvis, but you can also get the unmotivated kind of guide.
Elvis will be the major of the pueblo next to the touristic river which you would visit. I asked him, and he said that it would be also possible to come to the village, camp there and eat the stuff they offer (nice well stocked shop + Juanes).
You would be the first to do it. Just take a bus to Nauta, and from there a Boat to the village, then ask around for a tour guide. Probably its better to be a bigger group.
There is also somewhere in town a offer to visit directly the national park, as we heard from other tourists. This came with a more indigenous village and less touristic area. In the end its just luck what you see and how good your guide is.
Report Check-InFrank is indeed a great tour guide! We weren't sure about doing, decided last minute but it was worth it! I don't think he's independent anymore since he sent us to an agency but still fine. If you do it tell him you heard from Sabrina and Yu, he might give you a friend discount ;)
