Encore une 2e nuit magnifique! Moins d achalandage pour la nuit du samedi au dimanche.
Report Check-InBeau spot directement devant l'eau.
Report Check-InThe view of this parking is really nice. Yet lots of people around so a bit too noisy during the night. Not that much privacy.
Report Check-InThe parking lot closer to the water doesn't have any no camping signs anymore. Friday night, was busy and a bit noisy with people, but beautiful spot. I was going to move the parking lot back from the water, but didn't want to back up my van in the dark with people moving around.
There was another van in the same parking lot by the water, I think they stayed overnight as well.
It was a very humid hot Saturday and the beach was packed at 730pm still. All parking lots were full and lots of vehicles parked on the side of the road. I managed to find a spot on the side of the road. Hung out on the beach and watched the sunset. It started to clear out after dark. Found a spot in the parking lot back from the beach. No signs saying no camping but the one at the beach there is a sign. Stayed the night but it didn't quiet down till after midnight, maybe because it was a Saturday night? At 5 am I drove to the parking lot at the beach and had a lovely morning. Set up my Coleman stove on the picnic table under the gazebo. Very quiet in the early morning just some people launching their canoes/skiffs for some early morning fishing on the river.
pit toilets were vile after the busy Saturday crowd.
It was my trial run in my sprinter.
large lot at Shirley Bay park. the lot closer to the water has one of those no tent picture signs, there are no signs at all on this lot. I suspect it will be fine to stay as the park is open 24hrs, seems someone else has set up next to me with the same idea. any size vehicle could fit. there are two pit toilets by the water, woohoo! Signs for no dogs all around the water/picnic area. I'm considering not staying for that reason, not as nice a place for a dog walk as I hoped.
