Description

Parking lot next to Forest park and the departure of a trail. Sign saying the park closes from 10pm to 5pm but no “no overnight parking” sign. We stayed here and no one bothered us. Bit far from the city center (1h walk) but for the night it is quiet. 3bars 4G AT&T

This place looks good, but it's just for cars or small vans, not enough space for anything else.

Nice spot for the night, it was quiet and there is a porta potty. It wasn’t busy at all, probably because it’s getting colder.

Great spot close to downtown! Stayed here for one night with no problems only 8 minutes from the heart of the city. This has gotta be the quietest spot you’ll find near the city

Still a great option! Also the lot just before this one is just as good. Stayed a night in each, felt safe:)

For a whole month, I came to this place to spend the night because I had to stop travelling for a month. Everything was amazing. Never had problems.

Great place! A little noisy in the morning but night is really quiet

Report Check-In

Came in late and woke up to a very pretty site. It was quiet with few traffic from the main road. I can see why the trails are so popular. We heard hikers about 7am walking up, they didn’t park there so I’m assuming there is another way in. No knocks. Large blue porta potty was stocked and clean. So close to Portland highly recommend-solo female.

Good spot for 1 night. Busy with local trail users until about 9:15 - 9:30 then was dead quiet after that (besides the cars) overall a good spot, I enjoyed it

Arrived here at about 7pm, didn't have any issues getting parked. There was one other person also car camping here, we mostly kept to ourselves. There seems to be people using the trails and talking loudly into the night, probably because it's July 4th. No one bothered me though. Seems like people come here to run and hike, started arriving at 7am

Not a bad place to stay in the Portland area. Great little hike too. The lot was full of cars/vans when pulling in after midnight. Some loud folks around 2am returning from their voyage in the woods. Otherwise, was a cozy place to be.

Great spot. Stayed here multiple nights throughout the week. Best spot in Portland by far. Plenty of parking space for vans, and also has a spot for a schoolie, assuming it's free. Porta potty nearby. You can find a bunch of flat spots. Great cell service. Made it in our van without any issues. This was my home base for a week pretty much. Only thing is that it's quite popular so there are many hikers and ppl here in the morning and throughout the day.

Trail parking lot right next to road in Forest Park. Ended up staying here 2 nights and had no issues either night. Walked the trail both days and it was absolutely beautiful and a perfect way for the dog and I to end our day. Realistically only for car campers/vans/small rigs.

Pretty chill spot. It’s right off the road, so there was some noise during the day, but really quiet during the night. Gorgeous hiking all directions. Porta-potty was clean too.

Technically, “park hours are 5am-10pm” but we had no troubles. If we stay respectful and clean we can continue camping in these beautiful places.

Great and quiet spot in nature, but near the city! Signal was good enough and beautiful nature and trails all around. Very peaceful

Stayed here and no one minded. Frickin lovely spot !

This is a small trailhead parking lot off NW Cornell Rd. It’s in a wooded area and we were the only one last night. You could reach a huge trail network from this spot. You could hear the cars on the street but that didn’t bother us.

Got here in the late afternoon with my camper and stayed overnight without a problem. Pretty quiet parking lot after 7 pm, one other car arrived during the night. Trail runners going by starting early in the morning, but not too many vehicles. Gorgeous place if you’re looking to check out some trails!

Was good for a stealth night, just outside of downtown and soo quiet off the road at night. Decent cell service too. Beautiful hike right beside the parking area. Seems like locals frequent this spot, so probably only good for a night.
