Sunset view: water faucet, better toilet, tight space, better road, shaded by trees

FREE! Quiet and beautiful. Not many people. Beautiful sunrise. Hiked to the national monument in the am.
Report Check-InCanyon View is now open again, stayed 2 nights, only one here! Loved it, still free donation requested which is fine. Free guided walk to bottom of Canyon to see Navajo ruins 8am Sat, book at visitors centre. Helpful visitors centre great hikes. Two bars of LTE.
Report Check-InCanyon view is apparently closed until further notice (see photo). Sunset view is open and amazing.
Report Check-InWhat a great place und free. Very clean toilets. Not bussy. 1 bar of AT&T and it works.
Report Check-IniOverlander you have earned my loyalty forever. i was just looking for a free place to sleep and you led me here. what an amazing place. Id never have discovered the Natl Navajo Monument and that would have been tragic. i am amazed and moved. the campground is top notch, and free!! canyonview is unpaved but still accessible by vans and smaller rv's, and sunset view is all paved and mostly level spots. don't pass up the time to do the short hikes and the visitor centre.
you won't regret it!
oh and i had awesome cell service for my hotspot here.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot!! Very quiet, at the moment we are the only one here. About 15 sites, 2 group sites. Very clean pit toilets, picknick table and fire stand at site (no fire pits/ campfire allowed)
Beautiful views on canyons.
Free or donation at visitors center (was closed when we arrived after 6)
Great little camping spot with our 18' trailer. Hardly anybody here but it's a nice free campsite!
Report Check-InLovely little FREE campground! Toilets, picnic tables, grills, and views.
Report Check-InNice isolated campground with pit toilets and two bars of Verizon. Good for smaller rigs although there are a few pull throughs and a turn around. Seems unbusy. Nice views of the Canyon and good hiking trails.
Report Check-InCanyon View CG is still closed off, but says available with permit. Visitor Center is closed at Noon on a Thursday, so not sure how to obtain such permit.
Report Check-InWhat a wonderful camp! Sites generous and lots of trees. Views of canyon are partial. Picnic tables and small raised charcoal grills. They do ask not to dump gray water on ground. Clean vault toilets are very nice. Gravel roads. Not good for big rigs or long trailers. There is one group site. It was half full and super quiet. Please consider making a donation at the visitor center! This park is always underfunded.
Report Check-InAs others have stated, nice free campground. I normally free camp but this is a great change of pace. Beautiful views. Could feel crowded in season.
Report Check-InAgree with other reviews - great campground. Pulled in to spend a night but will probably remain a couple of days.
Report Check-Invery good place for free. pit toilets and picnic tables along the campground. find your place. bbq grill. very quiet!!
Report Check-InNice campground in a national park that is free. Trash and vault toilets in campground, running water at the visitor center. Decent 4G GSM and Verizon signal. Nice hikes to the ruins ans viewpoints.
Report Check-InGreat free campground (Donation based, you can pay something at the visitor center, we think it is a great place and nice to support)! If you have time take a free, guided tour down to the Betatakin dwelling! It was very interesting and the native guides know a lot about the nature and the region!
Report Check-InWhat a great spot for up to 7 nights and for free! Incredible! There is more than one pit toilet. Nice view over the canyon.
Report Check-InCAMPGROUND CLOSED. BAD ICE ON ROAD LEADING TO CAMPGROUND. SUNSET VIEW IS OPEN CAMP THERE
Report Check-InNice quiet campground, wonderful views over the canyon, for free. pit toilets, picnic tables, small barbecue grill but no water. Visitor center nearby, you can do 3 short hikes (sandal trail, aspen trail and canyon view trail, all not longer than a mile) selfguided. to visit the ancient Pueblos, you have to book a guided tour, but you can view the betatakin village from a viewpoint on the paved sandal trail.
