Broken tent and two thefts.AVOID.Broken tent:Long story short; my tent (a good as new MSR Hubba Hubba NX(~€600)) was broken by a child belonging to one of the staff, who was, unsupervised, learning to ride a bicycle around our camp while I was out shopping.Owner Darren Raw (who also owns Swazi Trails, the largest tour operator in Swaziland), consulted with his lawyers(!) and accepts no responsibility, would not compensate, nor apologise. Said that I shouldn't have been using an expensive tent, and claimed that he has no money in any case. - Not that he was willing to help pay for a new pole(~€150) anyhow..Out of nowhere literally says that anyone who threatens to *expose him* on social media can f**ck right off. I never made any threats and merely tried to solve the situation between us. His attitude became increasingly aggresive.I have had to fix the broken pole somehow, with no help, with no idea how long the fix will last, and am basically left with a valueless tent.----Thefts:The first night a 20 liter drybag dissapeared. Staff knows nothing, do not search for it, generally don't care.Went to speak to Darren about this and was called a racist for thinking that perhaps one of his staff had taken it. After having consulted with his lawyers(!) the owner Darren then decides to replace the item with another, smaller and inferior drybag, that he had lying around. The second night, things again dissapeared from the kitchen. When asked the staff about it in the presence of Darren, the staff admitted. Again, no apology, no acknowledgement. As there was no reasoning with Darren and his attitude was increasingly agressive, I left.---Aside from all this the backpackers and campsite are rundown and overpriced. The (unsupervised) gate to the road was left open all day as a dump truck drove in and out. Be aware that there are many large dangerous branches hanging overhead at the campsite. The staff are rude, slow, and generally apathetic. If you do go there and your belongings are broken and stolen, don't expect anyone to care, much less accept responsibility.

The new price for camping is 145rands pppn. You can negotiate if staying more than 3 nights. Detailed pricelist for 2024 added as a picture.
It's possible to do laundry here: 50rands per load.
Good WiFi, comparing to other places in eSwatini.

The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful!

Also: every 2nd Saturday in a month there's Ezulwini Farmer's Market on camping's premises- worth checking out if you happen to be around!

Report Check-In

Seems a little bit run down at the moment because they have some problem to find good staff. But owners were really friendly and helpful. New showers, fast wifi, can use the kitchen.
The only "bad" thing for us was the price for kids 130pp also... Free only under 5 years.
Ethiopian, Italian and Portuguese restaurants just in front are really good and they can deliver at the campsite if you want.

On route through Eswatini we needed to find and stop over at a spot that could offer us a Big Rig friendly campsite that is safe, affordable, and had a stable WIFI connection that would allow us to get some work done. Our fresh water supply battery also gave the added necessity for clean ablutions, kitchen, and washing machine facilities as it decided to end its trip early... Legends Backpackers Lodge in Ezulwini offered us what we needed.
While being in walking distance of local shopping centers, the Legends Backpackers campsite is also home to Swazi Trails - This Culture, Wildlife & Adventure Tours agency showed us a completely different view of Eswatini and took us into the depths of what could possibly be the largest granite cave system in the world. We had the opportunity to meet other Overland travelers that has driven as far as Belgium and France. Good spot, camp site fees R130 pp including electric plug in. Conference room, bar with seated area, and a Pizza spot right across the road. Mantenga cultural village also very close.

If you can avoid this place. They charge European prices for African quality.

Report Check-In

Camped here for one night, it was ok. The site was not as 'enchanted' as I had hoped, especially as you can see the yards of neighbouring houses. There was also some construction going on. While the shower block is very nice, there was only hot water in the girls section.

Report Check-In

Camping was in May 2019 105 pp. Electricity is 50 extra, but for charging phones etc one can use the plugs near the communal
Kitchen area.

There was hot water in the showers. They are clean and good. Toilet section is a bit old but still okay.

Dorms don’t look very inviting in my opinion.

The dogs in The Valley like to bark quite long - that’s a bit annoying.

Report Check-In

Good option for Swaziland. Nice and friendly staff. Dorms are 200 pppn and camping in a tent is 105 pppn.
Toilets are a little old but fine. Showers are new and nice and hot. WiFi is unlimited and good. Bar area and music and common areas also good. Nice big kitchen.

Report Check-In

Nice camping area in the trees but limited flat area. Price: 130pp.

Report Check-In

Unlimited WiFi available now. Showers hot and quite good. Everything else a little bit run down but good atmosphere.

Report Check-In

Came to check it out as alternative to Mlilwane. Camping area quite neglected. Loud music playing (holiday). Didn’t stay.

Report Check-In

Camping behind the buildings under the large trees. We were alone and had a magnificent view over the valley from our pitch. Ablutions ok. No hot water for the shower. We had a power connection. Site illuminated and guarded at night. Free 50 Mb WiFi.

Report Check-In

Beautiful campground with big shady trees in town. Does look like an "enchanted forest". Ablutions neat and clean. Has a kitchen and wash area for backpackers. 50mb pp free WiFi. Lovely place maybe we will spend another night here. R100pppn

Ablusion is Oké.

Pretty nice place, camping is indeed under trees which are beautifully purple in spring time. Staff is very nice and helpful, the free wifi is 100 mb per person per day. Price for camping 90 rand pppn electricity you can use for free in the backpackers. Bringing your own drinks is no problem, beers in the bar are pretty expensive 17 rand for 330ml and 20 for 400ml.

Report Check-In

90 Rand pppn, 50 Rand for electricity (we paid 50 for 3 nights after negotiation ) Campsite is under many trees, which are very close together, so I think more than 7,5 t is a problem. the campsite is scruffy, Toilets are ....ok, showers are good, it's for the backpackers and Campers together. Sinks for dishes are very dirty, but you can use the backpackers kitchen. sinks for laundry are full of muddy, filthy clothes of the staff, or whatever, so you can not use it, that ' s not so nice. all told it's a little rundown. There is a fantastic ShoppingMall in walking distance and the craft Shops are just opposite the campsite and these two things are the only advantages!

Report Check-In

Same a below, however some were asked for an 50 rand charge for electricity
