Maple Heart Ranch is a little trail riding ranch north of Victoria run by a lovely Swedish lady named Conny. It’s paradise. I had a forested campsite with a fire pit and grill, and there’s an outhouse just a small walk from the site. $35 a night plus $10 for a box of firewood. Super close access to the Trans Canada trail too, there was a group of cyclists that rode all the way from Vancouver. Tons of ravens and black bears, plus horses to look at! The price is a little steep but reasonable if you’re in a pinch (I was—booked the day of and Conny managed to squeeze me in). Kind people make it worth it.
