Description

Great spot for camping, very beautiful and quiet (even on the weekend), right next to the river. The further you drive up, the more beautiful the places get. Very friendly people, ask for Carlos.

There is a little tienda, you can swim in the river. Big rig friendly. There are toilets and showers.

10000 pesos per vehicle per night. Follow the (easy) dirt road till the end, you’ll see the orange gate. Doable for any vehicle. Great for tent camping as well.
.....
Edit Sep 2022: You need to take the smaller-looking road to the south. See check-in below.

the price is Cop 15.000 per night each vehicle.

Great place in a beautiful village.

Great peaceful spot (except for weekends when locals come to use the river). We camped at the end of the road right on the river. Carlos and his wife were so sweet. They have food for purchase if needed. (As well as beer and other snacks). We stayed 5 nights here and it was hard to leave! Lots of horses, chickens and dogs onsite! COP 10,000/per car, per night

Sounds like a cool spot, but the road was washed out, right at the fork by the red and white house. This was as of November 7, 2023. Adding a photo of the carnage. I imagine it’ll be fixed before too long.

At the moment it's not worth driving the steep and narrow road up there. Just before the camping spot the road washed away. No way to reach it.

Stayed 6 nights, Adding more photos...
The quietest nights we've had in a long time... The weekend had 6~10 kids come and frolic in the water. Most weekdays a fellow named Dubian comes and pans for gold, which he makes into jewelary and sells at the town square market on the weekend. After a few days we became friends and he invited us to his home for a meal.

Amazing quiet spot that's worth fixing the pin for... We initially took the more northerly road, on the north side of river, but this ended up being on the wrong side of the river and valley. You need to go through town and take the smaller looking road on the south side of the river. You will come to a fork in the road, this is where I have moved the pin to. There is a red and white building on the right, take the right fork. The orange gate is a few hundred meters beyond that. I've added an annotated map to the photos.

Carlos is welcoming and at first it's a bit of a farmyard, but carry on up the river and there is a beautiful grassy area right next to the river.

Very nice place with green meadow, animals and calm river with huge boulders. We spent here a night and whole morning. Kids liked enjoyed the river.

10 000 pesos per night per vehicle (we paid 10 000 more as a tip in the morning, just because we arrived really late in the evening and we liked it there so much).
