Stop camping here!! It is a day use playground , estuary viewpoint and kayak launch for residents and (respectful) visitors. The city is small and can’t afford patrolling dingbats who think it’s ok to camp out in a playground parking lot! Lots of legit sites nearby. Stop hogging and misusing parks paid for by local resident taxes ! Lots of legit camping within 5km!!
Report Check-InNice area. 2 No overnight signs on each side of the road when you enter the area but we were around 15 RVs that night. You have several spots along the street or in 2 parking lots. Pit toilets and potable water available. Quiet at night, busy during the day.
Report Check-InRight on the water. Brick pavement, pit toilet, picnic tables, shaw wifi, didn't see any signage that staying here is a problem.
deployed solar panels and bbq'd on a rock.
so far a friendly and safe feeling spot.
will attempt overnight.
it's a relative new signe right and left the road bevor the first lot: no camping and overnight standing in all parking lots and beside the road here!
Report Check-InI slept here several night, pit toilets and water not far
it's quiet during the night.
Slept in my car on on parking spot (the last one, close to the end of the road) two times and had no problem. Some cars were there with me, another vans parked aside the road. Asked people
around and they said it is ok on the parking spot and was told yes. Pit toilet just around. There is portable water closer to another parking spot. Safe and quiet.
Great spot with pit toilets, free water and some great art along the walkway. We stayed for 2 nights parked along the road at the end of the spit. Quiet, beautiful sunsets, and a few other rigs along the road or in the parking lot. Lots of people out during daylight hours walking their dogs or in the playground.
Report Check-InGreat spot close to the beach - loved it here, felt safe and very peaceful. We came back 2 nights on the trot! ☺️
Report Check-InGreat spot. We stayed in this lot and another one down the road. The “no overnight” signs aren’t enforced. There were about 10 others in the general area each night.
Report Check-InAs described, we looked around and didn’t see any no camping signs except at the two parks on the water side. There where two other rigs there last night. Left at sun rise to respect the local users. As others have said there is parking along the street further down the road which was being used.
Report Check-InWe wanted to stay here the next night, but saw a no overnight sign.
Report Check-InParked on street just outside Park parking lot. A few other camper trucks on the street with us. No one was in the parking lot, so we played it safe and parked with the others on the street. Street is industrial area on the Spit.
Report Check-InLevel parking lot right by the water near the beautiful Campbell River Estuary. Plenty of spots for overnighting with no signage posted to indicate otherwise. Few other rigs overnight and space for a few big rigs. Be respectful as it is a childrens park. Pit toilet and “award winning” Campbell River water on tap in the parking lot.
Update: stayed here four nights and even detached my trailer for three days with know issues what so ever.
