Description

At the end of the road to Norris Point between the Bonne Bay Maritime Station and Cat Stop Pub & Grub on the gravelled area.

We asked at the Cat Stop and we were told we could stay overnight, that noone would notice.

Room for small to medium size camper.

Decent cell signal.

Latest Check-Ins

Asked BonTours boat crew and Cat Stop pub staff if it was ok after going on a tour (highly recommend) and all said yes. Very welcoming. Ate at the pub, stayed for the live music, and hung out there until closing. The last tour returns around 9:30pm. After that the parking lot clears out. It’s true there’s no privacy and there are lights on in the parking lot all night, but it’s super convenient, and a gorgeous location. Handy picnic table and trash bins at the trailhead just a few steps away (The Burnt Hill hike along the shore was lovely). Asked if I could park at the trailhead and pub staff said they couldn’t endorse it as it isn’t their property and it’s right next to a private Airbnb. Would have been nicer than the parking lot but there is a no camping sign so didn’t push it. The parking lot was fine. There aren’t really any other options in the area anyway being a national park. Had a great night. Left around 8am and no problems. Staff were just starting to trickle in and everyone was friendly. Great coffee and goodies up the road at the Old Store Cafe which conveniently opens at 8am. Thanks Cat Stop and BonTours, and for the tip!

We went on the sunset boat cruise and asked everyone if we could park here…… no problem is all I heard :) large gravel parking lot - we are 43 feet of truck and trailer with ATV’s on it. It’s a busy place but nobody cares we are here ! Parking lot did not clear out till cruise was over at 10 pm. We parked on side of road beside aquarium until after cruise. Great place, great stay, priceless views, great people :-)

I don't find this spot to be at all private, you're literally right in the middle of all businesses. I was very skeptical staying here but it's the only spot in this area and it was already late to go to the campground. Luckily, the aquarium is closed the next day, so it may be less crowds and less noticeable. However, it's super noisy in the morning. To make sure I don't get complaints or ticket, I left before 8am and moved to the trail head by the end of the road. People started to come at 7:30am. There's "no camping" sign by the trail head, and it's so close to a private house, so not possible to park there overnight, same for the other end of the road toward Gros Mourne Adventure. If you come to park here, come late and leave early, maybe possible during weekday when businesses are not busy, I do not recommend parking here during weekend. Make sure to check out the trail, very beautiful view of the village and the bay. On the other end of the road, you can see Bonne Bay and the table mountains. Overall, I do not recommend parking here, I didnt feel relax staying here overnight. It's a safer bet to go to the campground, you can see "no camping" signs pretty much everywhere in this little town, I think they're fed up with ioverlander people, especially peak season.
