Description

Free camping (donations encouraged) at the county park. Open camping in grassy areas with fire rings, no designated sites. Some areas are shaded by large trees, others are not. One outhouse, old playground, covered pavilion with drinking water, river access with canoe landing.

Stayed here during the week in 21 ft TT powered by a generator, plenty of room for bigger rigs if you don't mind traveling down narrow dirt road to get to park. We were the only ones camping, some people at park during the day and we were told it gets very busy on weekends.

Latest Check-Ins

very simple campground and park on the Lac Qui Parle river. river access and two communal water refill stations. no electric and two pit toilets. Cell service for AT&T is almost non existent but there are spots with a lot of open sky to allow a starlink to work well. This park is run by volunteers and take donations for maintenance. Camping is free but a $20 a night donations is recommended. When we were there the bugs were some of the worst we've seen, so bad it chased us out of staying a second night.

We stayed on a Tuesday and had the place to ourselves! Beautiful park. We had a touch of cell but Starlink worked great!

nice quiet campground. kind of a local gem. great trails. during the week only a few people during the day. no one camping over night. lots of flies though.

Very quiet, grassy field. Still gnatty at dusk. Stayed on east side of the river.

Pretty place next to the river. Well kept. Camp spots placed apart from each other. Choose from being on the grass, in the trees or in a clearing.

There's also a pit toilet, play area for kids, a covered picnic pavilion and a water hydrant (the water tastes like iron, though, even after letting it flow for a bit).

Lots and lots and LOTS of small flies when I was here at the end of May. I would consider coming back here outside of bug season.

Verizon speed was about 42 Mbps down/6 Mbps up on top of the grassy knoll towards the entrance of the park. Otherwise, the signal is pretty much non-existent in the rest of the place.

Even though there is no fee to stay, there's a green donation box near the pavilion - give what you want.
