Umatilla NF campground. Road in from the highway is a ~mile of washboard but low clearance is fine. No water except the river. Five sites - only two occupied on a weekend in August. $8. Very quiet pretty spot.

The sign says 'unmaintained', and they don't recommend you cAmp here. I did and was happy. The river sounds drown out road noise, and the pit toilet is clean. watch out for rattlers accorsing to another sign. yikes!
