River was about 60cm deep, locals drive through. Sandy grounds, but driveable without problems.
DombeGrande Pass road very rocky, washed out from the rain, steep sections. Not too difficult, but you need some patience for tje road until you reach tar again.
The first 15km (come from Benguela) are not the worst in january 2024. It's rocky part but nothing complicated. The river is pk when the rain was not too much the last day. But after the 15km the track is really bad now because of the rain of the last weeks. Expect to drive 80km on "tôle ondulée " ( sorry don't know the name in english). And it's not possible to go fast because the road is not straight, you have a lot of curves, so not possible to drive 80km/h as should be on this kind of track... But landcape is beautiful and beaches are amazing. So in january if you want to go, just know that you will have this...
Report Check-InI forgot to specify: just before joining the tarmac again there is a river crossing. At this time of year I had water up to my ankles.
Report Check-Inthe last 15km are still very bad. Take your time. Moving rocks and sand patchs
Report Check-InRiders watch the soft sand gravel sections - front end wash-outs.
Report Check-InGoing south the first kilometers are the « bad ones », going at 15km/h but nothing difficult, then it becomes bumpy and then it’s a good track until the tar road. It’s magnificent so you need to go this way for sure !
Report Check-InNot very pleasant because bumpy and rocky but kind of easy track. A few small hill climbs in which you have to watch where you put you wheels.
