about what you'd expect! slept fine through the night, but the road gets pretty busy in the morning. woke up and took an amazing walk through the butterfly grove and the amazing beach nearby! if you don't mind the cars passing, the surrounding area is breathtaking

Report Check-In

We stayed here in our sprinter for a few nights over the course of about a week. It is loud. You can back in amongst the trees, but make sure to stay in line with the trees and not go back farther than that. We were trying to get level and went a little too far back and got a knock at 1am from a very nice officer asking us to pull up. He said he didn’t mind us staying there Ben though you technically can’t camp within town limits, but we needed to pull up so that we were in line with the trees. He was concerned about the railroad tracks and had dealt with a train vs pedestrian just the day before. So, we moved up back towards the road and went back to bed. Officer was very nice.

Pulled up around 12am in my car and slept till 1030am or so. lots of other cars/rigs, locals and visitors park here to go to the nearby monarch sanctuary during the day. seems to be popular so may not be able to fit a larger rig later in the eve on a weekend

As a local, it gets frustrating because the homeless were setting up camp and not moving. Locals complain or honk at all hours on purpose. If you drive elsewhere during the day and then park to camp at night here, no one will report it to the police. They won't bother you unless someone complains, it looks like you are homeless and/or have no intention of moving for a few days. There are plenty of options for stealth camping ALL over pismo where you can park for 72 hours and tons of options in RV parks for people who want to stay a few days and spread out.

it was a good and level spot. we walked to the beach from here and had a great view of the sunset. A few locals honked at night, but otherwise no problems. Highway was busy in the morning.

I think everybody and everybody’s mother has the same idea this Labor Day weekend to park and boondock at this site. Plenty of room but there’s a lot of activity which is no problem for a free place to park your rig. I’ve got a 37 foot class A motorhome and I had no trouble finding a spot. A little bit noisy but who cares it’s still fun.
