Description

This area has signs posted - 2 hour limit between 9am -6pm - no other restrictions. It’s right next to the water. You can hear the waves and barking seals. It’s residential so stealth is key. I pulled in at 10pm - Super quite - light traffic.

On the road besides the ocean. What a very beautiful place. We spend a night there and everything was ok. No restrictions to park during the night (bur during the day I don't remember).

Report Check-In

Parked in a stealth van overnight - window shades up, no lights, etc… Got a knock at 5:15am from an officer. Guy was extremely nice - suggested someone saw someone urinating outside a van which made them come check. He volunteered that he did a walk around prior to knocking and clearly saw no urine but that technically camping in vehicles is illegal in this town. He suggested that since I was awake and speaking to him that I was clearly not “camping” and suggested a few alternative spots for free day parking before encouraging me to move farther north on Hwy 1 for better camping options. No ticket, no written warning. Thankfully I work east coast hours so I was awake for the day.

Whether someone truly called is unclear (not a single visible house light on) or the city may be starting to crack down on illegal camping. I’d probably try this again in a pinch and just be extremely understanding with an officer if they speak to you.

Report Check-In

Plenty of space to park and other vehicles around to make it look not so suspicious. There were signs here that say no parking from 9AM to 6PM, so overnight was fine. We were kind of stealthy in my Mitsubishi. No problems, except early morning joggers :P

I was the one who originally posted this spot last year! You’re welcome! However, I did note that big RV’s were not ideal. Stealth means don’t be obvious or do things that draws attention. I’m was hopeful this spot was still available I’m glad it is. Let’s all continue to do our part to keep it that way. :)

This was our go to spot with our truck camper. Unfortunately, we were asked to move at 5 am by Pacific Grove police. Most spots are unlimited after 6 pm but no camping even though there are no signs 💔

Report Check-In

Sounds like this ideal spot will soon be cut off by people in rvs that's too bad. You need to be 100% stealth here. Please do not ruin it for those of us who know what being stealth means!

Report Check-In

Short from being at a private scenic location, this place is 5 stars for vanning. Just missing a public bathroom, I guess.

Report Check-In

Please note that there are residences right across the street. Parking a long tall RV blocks the view we so love. Please keep your stay to a few hours. Thanks

Report Check-In

Very busy street, we do not recommend. Just sign don't parking for more than 2 hours betwen 9am and 6pm, but you will draw attention with a RV here.

Amazing spot right next to the ocean, stayed in the community a few weeks, great Farmers Market on Mondays at 3pm. I did however see campers being a little too EXTRA. How about not using your pop tops in town.

Report Check-In

we stayed a little down the road in the pull in spots. Gorgeous with the sound of the waves! Lots of other vans. Two cars down there was a woman blaring music till about 10.30pm and filming videos butt naked in her car. We were worried it would draw the cops over but no one came and she eventually left. Peaceful night after that!

Would have to rate as best place so far we have freedom camped. Stunning view and plenty to do. We arrived here around 5pm and left by 8am each morning with no issues. Spent 4 nights here and even had some Cruise America Campers some of the nights and no one asked us to move on.

Good spot, had no problems staying there. There were several other vans when I pulled in at 9pm. It is right on the water and we could hear the ocean all night. Not too much traffic at night but did pick up a bit at 7:30 or so. Only problem was that it wasn’t super flat.

Report Check-In

Parked here for the night, quiet after midnight only the sounds of the crashing waves to relax you to sleep
I felt safe.

Report Check-In

Stayed two nights here because our favorite spot near the golf course no longer allows overnight parking. No signs prohibiting parking overnight and there were several other car and van campers around us. Be aware this is on a residential road and people live across the street, there are also various joggers and dog walkers early in the morning. Please be respectful of the locals so we may continue to wake up to the sounds of the ocean at this beautiful spot.

This spot is fantastic. All good as of April ‘23. Please respect the locals!

Ocean View Boulevard, it's a long stretch of coastal road where you can park stealth overnight. We stayed a night in our Sprinter at Berwick Park by Lover's Point Mural. Perfectly situated by the sea otters and a short walk to see the harbour seal beach.

Report Check-In

We stayed along this road without issues in a Cruise America RV - and were by far not the only people overnighting. Plenty of other RV's and campervans were parked when we got there around 22:00 / 10 PM.

Be aware that the parking spaces are relatively small, meaning our 25 foot vehicle was a little too long to fit in one space. This wasn't an issue as there was plenty of free spaces, but in the busy season it would most likely be harder to fit anything bigger than 20-22'.

Stayed in camper van one night. Should be stealth, there's residences and hotel across the street. Park where the signs say "2 Hour Parking 9 AM to 6 PM" only, after 6 PM. We got there around 5 and it was fine. There was alot of road noise until around 10 pm,then it really got quiet The view was unobstructed and fantastic. There was only one other van and a small RV there. No one bothered us and my motion detector only chimed once (squirrel?). We left at 7 am and went to the beach with dirt lot parking down the road for morning coffee and to use the trash receptacles. Cell service was very good, so was internet with my hot spot. I doubt this would be a good place in high season but off season, was fantastic.

Stayed here overnight. Sign says 2 hours parking from 9am - 6pm.
Everything was fine! Nice view. Some cars in the evening but it was quiet at night.

Report Check-In

Spend 2 nights here, an abandoned camper van was there, in the first night it was really quiet, but in the second we were woke up by a group of people with loud music and cars. Positive side, beatiful view and the sound of the waves are amazing.

Report Check-In

Just excellent. Runners in street and on walking path quiet down after sunset but are earlier to rise than I was. Lovely view, park next to the wooden railing for a bit of privacy from the walking path.

Great place to park for the night. 2 hour only parking 9am to 6pm, and other than that no restrictions. It is a nice established neighborhood so stealth is important. Enjoy the sounds of the ocean and beautiful views when you wake up. There’s a public restroom available near the coffee shop at the park which is open during day time. You can stealth park! This is a great location please keep it stealth for the sake of all of us.

Lovers Point is a great spot to park at night. I’ve moved around the area and parked for about 2 weeks and it’s grand. Enjoy!

Monterey is not a place to park on the streets or parking lots. There is a $250 fine. I was told by Police Officer to go to Carmel or Seaside, not Monterey!

Report Check-In

No problème to sleep. No signs. Beautiful view. We have a 11 feet camper van.

Slept there on 09/02/2022. Very quiet area, few cars passing by. Nobody around when it got dark. Saw few RVs parked, so if you’re not in the car but in RV - you’re probably good to go. Around 7am people start running around, so be prepared for early wake up. Nearby very clean portable toilets with sink outside (soap and paper towels available). Potable water to fill your water bottles and picnic tables to have breakfast with the best view ever!
