The main site was taken so I grabbed this alternative about 100m to the north and it's absolutely wonderful! Enough space for two vehicles

Long Run Rd graded & rolled with crush DG between Hopkins Gap Rd and “intersection” with Vepco Forest Rd & Dictum Ridge Trail (~8miles), so near paved level driving surface…
Long Run Rd between “intersection” and Harrisonburg View Camp - wouldn’t suggest pulling trailer unless you’re very experienced and setup is extremely capable … it’s a true double track road with numerous high-side potentials for ~2.6miles.
Stayed at second site just north of main camp-site since occupied - it’s a little close, with line-of-sight between sites, so maybe introduce yourself before securing the site … fit SUV & Trailer (combine length 40’4”) without disconnecting. Single fire pit and level-able spots.
Another nearby option if both sites occupied; Directly across from Harrisonburg Alt site, off Long Run Rd, take Feedstone Mountain Forest Rd heading east for 1 mile. Level campsite along ridge of mountain with both east & west exposure, no fire pit.
Temporarily closed due to VEPCO high power line installation project. I tried to access the site off of long run road, and they stated all entry into this part of the forest is closed for the rest of 2023. it will reopen after though. please make a note on these as I was really excited to camp here.

Got here in good shape in Annie my 2018 stock Armada... took the forest road nice and slow. Passed a few bear hunters on the way up, Virginia had a 3-day bear hunting period that ended Sept. 28. This spot is across the road from a private game reserve (Posted signs up), and you can definitely hear hunting activities from here.As the regular hunting season starts this week, I'd expect more hunters/hunting in the area.
Absolutely gorgeous view and had reliable cell service on AT&T. Enough room for several rigs although not everywhere on site is level.
