Great gravel road, excellent for 2WD vehicles, Many established dispersed camping sites along the road. Road seems only used by ATVs, and not many at that. 2 bars for internet, absolutely no camp fires. Beautiful deep forest sites. Quiet and right between Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Excellent spot about a mile and a half back, on a curve under some trees. Had some hail and the spot got a bit muddy, but it’s great for setting up a hammock. You can hear the creek
Report Check-InAs described, beautiful spot. We’re a Class C Sprinter and had no problem with the road. 3bars Verizon, none on T-Mobile. Maybe 3 trucks drove by during the early morning.
Report Check-InThe GPS location isn’t much of a campsite, just a patch of grass right next to the road. Assume there is next to zero traffic, but there was also zero cell signal so I went elsewhere.
Report Check-InPicked one of the deeper spots further down the gravel road from this one. Nice for camper vans and close to local attractions. I’m getting 3 bars Verizon w/ a WeBoost Sleek.
Report Check-InAt least 5 sites on this road, probably more further back. At first you'll see 2 areas that look like they could be campsites but are clearly marked "no camping or fires". Just keep going & you will see the areas where camping is allowed, they are marked with red & yellow "no campfire" signs. I didn't see any large enough to accommodate a big rig, most are back in or parallel to the road. Road was easy for any vehicle. Good Verizon, spotty TMobile.
