Description

This is a new campsite designated for Overlanders. The owner is super friendly, welcoming and communicative. Located in a beautiful valley with amazing views. Only an hour away from Bogota. Clean toilets, showers and a great communal kitchen. We stayed here while “commuting” to experience Bogota and the surrounding area.

Latest Check-Ins

When coming in, there is about two miles of rocky dirt road and then once you come through the locked gate there is about 200 yards of rocky pitted road full of roots. There is a required sharp right turn which would be difficult for big rigs. There is not many places that are level to park.
There are several dogs that live here; one that is rather aggressive ( he attacked our dog). There is a nice kitchen area but the sink was difficult to use as a huge pile of dirty dishes were left there more than once during our stay ( presumably by Carlos, who takes your money and shows you around .)
On the positive side, the bathrooms are clean, the showers are warm, there’s a fire pit that is usable ( we used it) and most importantly it is a convenient stop when you are going into Bogota.

We stayed here for 5 nights, travelling back & forth to Bogota a few times. If you message Ana ahead of time she will get back to you quickly, she was so warm and welcoming, although we never met in person. We were able to go in and out of the locked gate whenever we needed. The bathroom and shower was clean, the common kitchen area was handy. We have not met up with many overlanders on our travels but we met a few at this place. They do not have a set price but ask for a donation, we gave 50K/night for 2 people and a camper.

We spent several nights here because we had some appointments in Bogotá. Very friendly people and a well maintained campground. Warm shower, kitchen with stove. Everything you need. Water is not potable.

We went to town and came back in the evening a couple of times. Takes around 50 to 90 minutes one way depending on where you're heading in the City.

20.000 COP pppn. We recommend.

San Antonio was a great place to stay near Bogotá. We were here for 2 nights in our camper - toilets, kitchen and shower are all available. At the moment it’s pay what you want, and communicating with Ana via WhatsApp was fast and easy!

Just be careful if it’s been raining, as some parts of the site were very muddy when we visited, and easy to get stuck in.

It’s a wonderful camping space at about one hour drive from the historic center of Bogota without heavy traffic. The common area is so nice. The shower is hot but only when it’s open just a little bit. The shower head has not been cleaned for a long time so most of the openings are blocked and only few let water out but still ok for a shower. Everything was clean when we were there.
We arrived late at around 6:30-7 but Ana and her partner let us in and stat without a problem.
If you couldn’t get in touch with Ana before arriving, the padlock of the gate is usually not closed or if it is they leave the key on the left rock pillar so you can go drive until you reach the camping and the house of the people who live there. Don’t forget to close behind you.
There is a lot of meadow but when it rains everything gets soaking wet so not super tent friendly but ask Ana if there is some option for you.
The fastest road from Bogota has a toll going out of Bogota - 10800COP (going back in it’s free) but there is a toll free road if you continue north that is 30mins slower.

We stayed at this lovely place for one night. The commun area is really cool! Price is now at 25‘000 COP per night (for 2 people).

We spent a very nice and quiet night here.
This is a perfect place to stop on your way in or out of Bogota, a beautiful refuge in the mountains, surrounded by nature. Plus lovely hosts, and friendly dogs and cat to great you. Also if you get the change try Catalina's amazing food.

We spend the weekend here as we wanted to escape Bogota and be in nature for a couple of days. It can get pretty cold here, but the area and the hosts are so nice. There's a communal area with a kitchen, the toilets are neat and the shower is warm-ish. The price per night is donation based! Wifi worked good enough for some online work and 4G Claro signal.

We stayed one night and would’ve stayed longer if we didn’t have commitments in Bogotá. The owner said we could pay what we wanted and we gave 50,000 COP for two adults and one child. Clean bathrooms with a hot shower, though there are a lot of openings and the water only sprays out of a few holes, so it can be a cold experience depending on the time of day. Covered seating and a huge kitchen. Really a wonderful benefit. You may need to turn on the propane bottle for the stove. There aren’t too many places to get level parking, but we found a good one. Fun treehouse with slide, but it doesn’t have railings so not too safe for littles (Caspian fell from the top of the slide). Two sweet dogs and a white rabbit who loves the dogs and follows them around. Definitely recommend this spot.

Spent a quiet and relaxing night in beautiful surroundings. Sign at gate says "Killy". If the gate is closed, call Ana Tovar, the very amiable hostess: WA 3212042388. Might be advisable to give notice before arrival, anyways 😁
