The gate must be around 2,8 - no problem for the 2,7 Van to fit in.

First they wanted 60, then 50 SOL for 2 in a Van - a bit expensive for what you get. Also the road is busy and noisy so we left.

Can I just say how fantastic this place is, Mila is so amazing and fun to chat with. Her mum was so sweet to us and our kids. The place has a very clean pool and our kids spent the whole time we were there swimming. Hot showers, kitchen and general chill vibes. Now as for Fernando, he's truly a God send for us. we broke down in Ica and he organized a trailer to bring us back to Lima and then organized mechanics to help us. He spoke to the mechanics every time to make sure we were all on the same page and being taken care of. He's truly an amazing guy that wants to see overlanders succeed. We felt like family being here and highly recommend it.

We had massive problems with our european Toyota Hilux and the owner - Fernando („Michi“) organized everything with bis excellent Connection all over the land. First a friend in Camana organized a Truck, that brought us 500km to Ica, than we got to Jimmy the mechanic (See also I-Overlander) who did a fantastic Job in changing all the injectors and commonrail from our Euro 5 machine (the bad quality of the Diesel in south America)
So we stayed 5 days in the Hotel Samay. It is very clean, has a nice pool and very good food. Michi makes everything for you and has a solution for everything. You feel like at home with your familiy. Mila gives Personal Training classes and speaks perfect english, and her mother can give you a perfect massage.
Whoever is in trouble with bis car and needs help and a place to relax - visit Michi - a real friend in hard times :-)

we are 2.7m and were not able to fit. I think the gate is probably 2.6m. this is a super busy street so trying to negotiate getting inside with deflated tires would be tricky. owner was super nice though. he recommended going to Sol y dunas near by, but that place appears abandoned now.

We tried with our 2.8m can, but we were missing 2cm to the gate even with lowering the tire pressure. The owner is a really nice guy, and got his compressor to refill our tires when it didn't fit. He suggested that I update iOverlander to say it only fits van with 2,5m height, but 2.6m or even 2.7m would probably fit, too. The parking lot is not very big though, so anything longer than a short sprinter will probably struggle to get in and out. The place looks nice with a pool, but unfortunately we didn't fit. We could negotiate 50 a night when staying two nights.

Hostal witch space for parking and sleeping in your van. Entrance hight is 2,80. All facilities you need. Fast wifi / potable water / electricity / clean bathroom with hot shower. Only 2 km from huacachina and 2,5 from a big mall in Ica. Super friendly owner Fernando!
