Description

NICE shaded camping in woods overlooking lake, each pitch(20)has own pit toilet, picnic table & fire pit.
lots of bugs in june / july....

The pit toilets aren’t nice but if you have a bit of cleaner on hand they could be comfortable. This camping place will be consolidated in the near future to 10 or less per State DEC Ranger Police.

Latest Check-Ins

This place is really nice. It has around 20 sites. The lower (nearer the water) sites are not great for parking due to mud at this time. A DEC Ranger Police came by. He said the site was going to be consolidated down to less sites in the future. So there may be less spots in the future. The camping is free at this time. For up to 3 nights- or 4 days. On permit you can stay up to 14 days. You can only get one permit per year for this site. You can still get a permit at other sites for the 14 days. No amenities. There are small stores in town 15 minutes away.

A fantastic spot! I needed service (TMobile 1 bar, not much but enough to send the messages I needed to send) so chose the first spot where the signal was steady. Perfectly flat, sheltered in the trees with a view of the pond. Only two other spots occupied on a beautiful summer Sunday night, and both on the other side of the water. Silent. Dark. Wonderful.

Nice pine forest park with free camping as described. We set up on #9 with our truck camper. Plenty of room. Well shaded. Good Verizon service. Ideal for small < say 25’ trailers, vans, pop-ups. Access road suitable for any vehicle type

Very nice and quiet:)
End of July still lots of bugs🤷‍♂️

Report Check-In

Great little boondocking spot. It's on a spring fed pond. Beautiful area. Two spots pass the bridge is heavily trashed. looks like abandoned pop up and trailer. This is why we can't have nice free camps.

Report Check-In

Très bien, tranquille, route de gravier sans problème, gratuit.

Report Check-In

Very peaceful as described. Maybe a dozen campsites. With outhouses! Only one other tent camper here on Labor Day weekend. No camp host or ranger. Kind of an abandoned campground. One Verizon bar. Room for big rigs.

Report Check-In

Exactly as described beautiful place and peaceful

Report Check-In

Pleasant surprise and area to camp. Came in at dusk but had no trouble parking our rig in one of
the sites. Nice natural beauty on sites bit some a bit dirty. Don’t count on using outhouses or fire pits. Work well for our overnight stay.

Report Check-In

Nice sites, spacious, lots of shade but mosquitos country. Be prepare! Besides that, it was perfect for us.

Report Check-In

they do not seem to be plowed for the winter. we found some that didnt have too much snow.

Report Check-In

Nice place, real quiet. Site 21 is the best place, off to the side. 1 to 2 bars Verizon just enough to make you frustrated
