There are no facilities at this location and I found it by chance. It's at White River rest area of of Webb Lake[123] Rd. It's above the lake and a great spot to boondock.. I stayed for two days with no problems and one other car pulled in for one night. It's connected to the rest area by a broken gate and gravel rd. Just drive into rest area and make the first right on Webb Lake Rd.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
The rest station this road is behind was closed for construction when we visited but they had portos for through travelers. I think most people sleep at the rest stop because we had this little road site to ourselves! The gravel/dirt road is not marked but is opposite the rest stop building and there are campsites on either side of the road stating they are designated campsites. Nothing there except nature! It was quiet and the perfect overnight spot. If you have everything you need with you, it’s perfect!!!!
Report Check-InGreat area with a number of spots. This not free camping! A camping permit of $5 is required or a hunting/fishing license. Great 5G from VZ and TMobile. Sting AT&T signal too. Beavers are all around the lake. Bonus!
Report Check-InI had a great night here. Ditched the Loves for this. Cons you can still hear the highway & trucks running at the stop nearby but it's faint and I imagine even fainter when more leaves. Only shared the spot with 1 other camper. Good morning hike.
Report Check-InSpent last night here. Pulled up to the gravel road & parked @ the 1st campsite on the left. Lots of room. Got here in the dark so I did not venture toward the lake. I walked a short distance to it this morning. Nice roomy space for several small vans/rv’s.
Water is cut off @ rest stop although there are porta potties. Nice place.
Right behind the rest stop off i-40. Stopped here to stay just one night to wait out a storm passing through, but liked it so much we decided to stay another night. Close enough to the rest stop that you can easily walk there to use the restrooms if you want. Verizon service was great. The parking area up by the road fits big rigs, we have a 40' skoolie and had no problems. There's a small narrow road that leads down to the lake and there are even more spots down there. Spots by the lake could probably fit bigger rigs as well, BUT I don't think the road down would. Very loose gravel, so while getting down wouldn't be much issue, getting back up probably would be. It's a gorgeous spot, but we picked up a lot of trash when we got here. Please leave no trace so we can still use spots like this!!
Report Check-Injust as tonyl5952 said, first right when you went to the rest area takes you down the gravel road to the campsites.
I parked in the first bar on the left just above Lake Webb. very quiet the only noise was the low murmur from the highway. But far enough away for just to be a white background noise.
only saw one other camper.
would definitely stay here again.
Great place! Very tranquil. Right off of I-40, but it’s a relatively soft white noise. I stayed at the first spot on the left. There’s there a spot at the road, but I recommend driving down the little hill then your right by the lake. Verizon’s good. T-Mobile’s iffy. You can camp for free, gosh, even swim. Very private.
Report Check-InGPS will take you around. the rest stops on both sides past them and to their area. use GPS and you'll find it with no problem. A 30 ft bus can fit in the upper area without a problem, but it's really uneven. You have to have a way to level out or just be comfortable with it lopsided on one side. The lower area is perfect for a van 20 ft max. Right on the lake. I think I started to see mosquitoes come out as it started to get dark but during the little time I was here with the sun out I didn't see any. Internet? absolutely. I've got four bars with Verizon. I don't have my AT&T on. For a 30-ft bus. it's just two lopsided for me to stay. I wouldn't get a good night's sleep. But anyone in a van. I think they'll be super happy here for a couple nights.
Report Check-InFlat area large enough for multiple vehicles. Some Hwy noise. Didn't see anyone during our stay. Multiple spots to camp. No amenities. Will stay again. 3 bars LTE with t-mobile.
