Big gravel place on the Lake. nice place to stay. May be busy on weekends and the Highway is not so far away. Also Airplane land here for a picnic. FREE.
Turn-in can be a bit tricky to spot. Small road on left (if heading south) right before the guard rail starts. If you miss it, there is a turnaround just a few hundred feet down the road.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Perfect place to explore the Seward area.
It’s a huge gravel pit wit open spaces as well as hidden places between trees.
We spend 3 nights here and during this time there were up to 20 travel trailer here- but even then- it was quiet and you had privacy.
Drive is 100 meter from the main road- but it’s not noisy- because the area is behind a small forest.
Stayed here a couple weeks ago. Probably 7 rigs in there, some large 5th wheels, some camper vans, some trailers. Everyone kept to themselves, but no one up to anything unreasonable. Did see one fourwheeler during the day, but nights were quiet.
Report Check-InCame in early May and it was mostly plowed out for rigs. Added view of the boat launch area. good cell reception
Report Check-InNice spot to spend a night at. Quiet for the most part and beautiful views
Report Check-InVery nice spot with a fantastic view. Any rig. Difficult to see the entrance from the highway. Photo looking East.
Report Check-InStill very nice, during the week very quiet, close to the water and nice scenery.
ATT reception ok.
Superbe endroit bord du lac les montagnes et beaucoup d’espace pour plusieurs campeurs
Report Check-InNice spot right off the highway. Far enough away to not hear much traffic. There were about 10 other rigs here when we camped but it did not feel cramped at all.
Report Check-InGorgeous place to camp ok for RVs and large rigs 4wd not required. ATT has good cell service here. Lots of sea planes landing and taking off great place to be an Aviation Geek.
Report Check-InThe busiest spot we ever had. There were almost 30 other RV‘s and campers on this Saturday. All the other places were busy too so we decided to stay. It was like car-on-car camping. Not beautiful and noisy. Not recommended ok weekends in high season.
Report Check-InVery windy. Lots of toilet paper and garbage around. But plenty of room.
Report Check-InGood location and accurate listing! Don't blink or you won't see the entrance.
Report Check-InWonderful! Beautiful lake, views, airplanes landing on the water... and free! :)
Report Check-InWe're boondocking near Moose Pass AK just off the highway to Seward. It's US Forest Service property on Upper Trail Lake. It's a large gravel area with numerous campsites. There are a few float planes landing and taking off from the lake which is cool for us Florida flat landers. This is an easy in and out road, with some potholes so go slow. There are numerous fire rings but bring your own firewood. No facilities here.
Report Check-InBig gravel lot with nice waterfront spots and trees along water. Not busy in Sunday night. Easily missed from road. LTE with ATT network.
Report Check-Innice place at the lake. A couple of hidden places with fire rings.
Only the noice of the floatplains might be annoying.
Actual location is (60.520882, -150.388831). It's not updating when I try to change it. This is Free Campground right off Kelly Lake. Basically just a gravel parking area by the boat launch. There are fire rings and some tables. Less crowded than the free spot at Peterson Lake. Although a guy with a 5th wheel was running his generator non-stop. AT&T works, Verizon just barely.
Report Check-InReally nice spot. Seems to be kind of a local secret, hopefully people don't ruin it. A lot of plane activity on the lake that can be a little annoying. Great AT&T signal not Verizon.
Report Check-InBig gravelplace on the Lake with nice place to stay. Mybe busy on weekend and the Highway is not so far. Also Airplane land here for a picnic. FREE.
