Passed by here on the highway on bicycles at around 1pm. Area didn’t feel at all dangerous. Lots of cars and trucks passing by. Friendly people waving and beeping. The biggest danger here is it’s quite remote and there are no tiendas plus it was really hot (June 2024) so if you are travelling by bicycle make sure to pack a lot of water as there is nothing

It was still very dangerous. We arrived at Pueblo at 21:30. The soldiers stopped the road. They were banned from passing through the village at night. Many trucks also stayed in this village. According to the hotel owner, there are assembled elements throwing bombs here. Travelers pay attention! ! !

Agree it’s still very dangerous here. We have just been advised by locals not leave the Pan America - we wanted to detour to visit the archeological sites. This is still a dangerous stretch of road from Popayan to Pasto. Stay on the road and keep driving. The recent election result means the militants aren’t happy so car bombings, robberies and violence are escalating here. The roads are often very bad off the pan America meaning you’re easy prey. They were so firm with us. Keep driving on the Pan American

we didn't stop here but we drove through, many trucks on the road and seemed chilled. very secluded road, wouldn't risk driving here at night but the day was fine

I am travelling by foot to Alaska. I checked in with the police about this area and they said it was safe to walk through during the day. They’ve had a large deployment/mission based out of El Rocodo cleaning the area up.
Definitely check before you go but I had no issues whatsoever.

Very dangerous! Stopped for 20 seconds here (first place to stop for 20km) and four police motors with seven police/soldiers came to us from all directions (they were not on the road before, they were on some kind of ambush) guns blazing and firmly told us to leave immediately as this place was “muy peligroso” (VERY dangerous). This was 16:30. Don’t stop anywhere outside of a village in this stretch
