Description

Two camp stands around a rocky outcrop overlooking plains - zebra and gemsbok passing nearby. Beautiful spot, camped under an overhang. Long drop toilet short walk away. End of a 6km dead end so very quiet. Best spot in the park that I've found. Park fees paid in advance (see other campsites in park).

Beautiful site to spend a night… We arrived set up camp and enjoyed the beautiful sunset.

We got our permit in Swakopmund. We are glad that we took the time to drive all the way out there, this place cannot disappoint. Total of 4 camping spots, we chose the one with the arch with the "hole in the wall". This has to be one of our top-5 camping spots EVER! Stunning views!

We saw ostriches and even giraffes on the riverbed close to this spot. There are lots of different nice places to pitch your tent under hanging rocks around the arch. It was quite windy so it was terrible to cook in the end of the day. But nice wild camping atmosphere.

Two simple campsites with a pit toilet each of them close to a very nice arch in a remote valley. The arch at the first campsite is more beautiful, but the second has the better view. 4 WD and some clearance ist very helpful because of deep sand and rocks. It can get very windy. No MTC-Signal.

Only 2 official campsites here. The rest of the info still the same. One campsite a little further on a steep hill. No flat area there. Beautiful views though. Other campsite bigger and somehow flat. Quiet. Long drop almost full.

Both campsites have rubbish bins, concrete table and stools and a braai pit.

Price is same as last year: Park fee 40N$ per person and 10 N$ per vehicle and 80 N$ camping. When camping, you can access the park on two days, but you pay the park fee only once. So in total camping for 2 people is 170 N$ per night.

There are two main camp spots in the rock arch area a few 100m apart, camp spot 1 has a few areas where you can park.

What a spot, various sites to pitch camp although a level piece of ground for my campervan was a bit of twisting and turning but I managed to park it right under the overhang behind the hill. This place is special! Prices have gone up N$90 pppn and N$30 per vehicle per day.

best campside! you book just camping in the np-park at MET, not a specific campside. so just go and hope it is free.

Absolutely stunning campsite! The site farthest out is under a rock arch/overhang. You can sit on top and watch the sunset or sunrise over plains with oryx and zebras. Concrete braai at site and long drop toilet nearby. Park permits (N$40 per person and N$10 for the vehicle per day) and camping permits (N$80 per night for two) available at MET.
