Something not right?

Description

We were looking for the Crisman Hollow campsite on here or a similar one down the road, but they were all full until we got to pretty much the end of the National Forest. Right before the “leaving George Washington National Forest” sign there is a dirt road to the right. We followed that road for a bit & arrived at an opening with two fire pits, right next to the creek. We had one passenger vehicle & one tent, & we fit fine. Could maybe hold one more vehicle or tent in this spot.

There was another person here at one point, some pickup truck that drove over the creek to the other side & kind of just sat there locking & unlocking their car for a few hours & then drove back over the creek & left, but we were the only ones here overnight.

There is a somewhat busy road behind the campsite so if you’re looking for complete silence from cars, you might want to avoid here, but it’s not too busy at night & early morning. Was still very peaceful hearing birds chirping in the morning & the babble of the creek.

Latest Check-Ins

Large rigs should probably avoid this spot unless you are very confident on your backing up skills. It is very nice and secluded. Large fire pit.

Report Check-In

It appears Crisman Hollow Road is closed for the winter. Gate was locked. This is the only camp site available in the area right now! Good spot to spend the night, not good for trailers or super large rigs. I have a van and a tow car and was able to back both vehicles into the site separately.
