Forest service road with ample pull outs for wild camping.
NOTE -- The District of Squamish & the RCMP has been going after campers in this area after mostly issues with extensive garbage being left behind... you might get a know on the door in the middle of the night
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
District of Squamish has now passed a bylaw prohibiting any camping within it's boundaries. Per the community services manager at last week's council meeting, enforcement will be "complaint driven", but probably still best to not list free spots within the DOS any more.
Report Check-InNice spot, we drove just pass the 2 marker sign and had a nice big flat spot, very quiet from dark and throughout the night, but quite a bit of traffic coming through in the morning about 6:30- maybe 7:30. We weren't too bothered but someone could be. We could also see someone saying no camping.
Report Check-InLocated a pull off along the river between the 2nd and 3rd KM markers. Quiet at night, but well-used roadway until dark, including logging trucks.
No issues staying here, even though our pull off didn’t have signage. Some lots did, indicating overnight parking Ok.
Report Check-InThere are a number of roads further up the service road with pull outs, including camping spots on the river. I explored a bit and found two spots that I liked and were available. Some roads are a little rough while others are okay. One was not that great but had a great view (pic of the sunset) and cell reception and the other was right in the river and pretty nice, forgot to get a good photo of it though still posted one with the stones and dog; no cell reception. Generally the area is busy, more so on weekends.
Report Check-InThere's around five pullout on the first kilometer of the forest road (all were taken on a Tuesday at 7pm), after around 1km we saw two "no camping and no fires" signs. We didn't go any further and decided to check other spots nearby. As previous commenters said, even if you do decide to stay there, don't expect much privacy.
Report Check-InPull out just at the beginning of the forest road service. Slept here one night no issues there were a lot of van and motor homes and some people sleeping in there cars. Very noisy from the road but ok for one night and free.
Report Check-InLong Road, not easy to find a nice place or settle down with the tent-(easier if the vehicle is equipped) a lot of passage, not much privacy, river noise strong enough, think about taking mosquito repellent spray, beautiful landscape around
Report Check-InCamped here for two nights with no issues. There are lots of pullouts all along the road.
