Description

$5 usd per person to camp in a gorgeous finca near the River La Muerte. There's restrooms, electricity, and showers next to the palapa. Ther river is super nice and clean and you can swim in it. You can also buy fresh cheese and cream from the owners. One of the best places we've camped at in a while. We'll definitely be back. Ask for the owners Vainica (Victor) or Cesar. — DIRECTIONS: Drive 1mi km after tue small bridge up the gravel road until you see a gate to your right without a name but the entrance/gate has two carved tree trunks with green figures and a roof with orange tiles. Drive down the gravel road for 50m or so and then turn right (difficult to see) down to the camping area. It's muddy in the rainy season and 4x4 is recommended especially to make it out up the hill.

this place is very beautiful, remote and off the grid. loved this place. however: when we arrived the lady that was there didn't knew the current price to stay and the owner didnt pick up his phone. We agreed paying the next day. Soo the next day she told us it's 10.000 C per person for 1 night. wich, in our opinion, is outragious. okay the place is beautiful, but the facilities are very very basic. you have a toilet and cold shower, but had to use our own toiletpaper. wich is offcourse all fine but not for that price. so we paid 10.000c in total and left. So make sure to agree on the price beforhand!

Very beautiful remote campground surrounded by cows and horses. The owners showed us their farm and the making of their cheese. We paid 12.000 including a kilo of cheese. (Two adults a baby and a 3 years old child)

This was probably one of our favorite wild campsites of our 2 week overland trip through Costa Rica! Very remote, and hard to find! The river of death is beautiful and comes right through your campsite. Big enough for any outfit. A clean cold shower and bathroom as well. Just a wonderful spot in Costa Rica!!

The owners are so nice! They cleaned up the whole covered area including shower and toilets when we arrived. So all was very clean. It’s a finca with cows, horses and sheeps. So it’s a real country experience there. The river is nice for swimming.
