This spot is truly splendid. Very quiet tow and everyone we met was super nice as well. Arrived at night and I did not drive my van into the sand as it is very loose sand for the heavy vehicle. I parked on the entrance next to the portajohn. Was nice to have a bathroom in the morning. The beach is super clean with a few sharks teeth and many conch shells. The mosquitoes come out at dusk in the swarms. Had to close all of my windows because it seemed not even the nets could hold them back. Very good for birding as well here. No pokestops on POGO tho. There are many other beaches to pull off at along the road south as well. Hidden gem

We pulled just barely onto the beach in our 2wd Sprinter and had a pleasant night. We bought fresh blue crab from Meaux's Seafood in the village and had a crab boil on the beach. Watch out for the biting bugs.

extremely soft sand, recommend only for light 4x4 vehicles.

Slept half a night on the beach because rain was in the forcast. Moved to the parking lot 4 min to the north for the remainder of the evening

Several beach access points - all I think with 1 or 2 Porta-Poopers. 4WD required to drive onto the beach. Great star gazing out on the beach, away from the street lights.

Maybe the Mosquito Capital of the Gulf? Can't imagine any place worse. We had to leave.
