Description
Bennington Visitor Center in Bennington VT. Overnighted here on 10/12/22 after stopping to use their Wi-Fi to plan route. Wi-Fi was extremely slow and ended up not using. Asked at the desk if it was possible to overnight and they said it was OK. Several other campers were using the parking lot also. One end of the parking lot is for semi-tractor trucks so I parked as far away as possible from their area. The visitor center hours are 7 AM to 7 PM. There are no trash receptacles so take your trash with you. There are clean restrooms and very nice displays inside the visitor center, accessible only during open hours. It is well lit and safe.

Report Check-InThere is a “no camping sign” in the parking lot. I checked in about 10pm and left around 6am and wasn’t disturbed. Cars pull in and out during the night. Trucks have separate parking, in the winter they keep running their engines. Bathrooms are opened only during operating hours of the welcome center.
Report Check-InOne more note here in Bennington...there is a Tractor Supply in town too that has propane. A little high, but if you need it they have it. As of this date it is $3.99 per gallon. And for laundry, the Sit and Spin is clean, reasonable and friendly.
Report Check-InSo the area for trucks and RVs also has a sign saying no overnight camping. The area for cars does NOT have this sign, so we chose to park our van there. In the morning there was an RV and van in the "no overnight camping" area, so it appears either is ok? We had a quiet night, no trouble. Kinda crappy Verizon signal.
