Description

All the rest stops were stuffed full and just an overall creepy vibe. Found this state park near by and saw some great pull-outs later down the road from here. I picked this one (it's small, would fit two campervans) mainly because it's almost 4AM. I checked to see if it was any land I could park on and turns out it's a tiny corner of BLM property! For the win.

Great, quiet spot right off the highway.

Nice little spot. Pulled in after dark. Saw one camper in a little gravel area right off the highway as you enter the park area but wanted to check this spot. Didn’t hear anyone else come down this road. Picked up some trash this morning on our way out.

Yep, cool spot! 2 Bars Verizon, level ground and much better view of Echo Reservoir and pretty wild shrubs surrounded this pull out this fall. I almost want to see a train roll by to film it with the drone and van together.

Report Check-In

As reported, this is a nice little spot for the night. You can still hear the interstate traffic, but much better than staying at the Hwy rest areas. It fit our truck camper just right. No one bothered us.

I parked in a pullout alongside the two-lane road, which did see a fair bit of traffic through the evening. Traffic across the reservoir on I-80 was visible but not really audible. Flat and with decent T-Mobile service (a few bars of 5G). There is a good rail trail, about 9K each way, for walking or biking, that starts here and runs alongside the lake.

I used this suggested pullout and it was perfect. Deer grazing along side us in the wildlife management area. There was quite a bit of traffic on the two lane road until dark. Apparently, elk were down low grazing and there were people viewing and taking pics. A sheriff’s deputy stopped to make sure I wasn’t having any trouble. Said it is okay to park here and if anyone messes with us to call them because they are on duty all night. He said Coalville is two miles up the road if I need anything, but everything closes by 9pm. Two bars of Verizon for me.
