Description

Free beautiful campground as previously mentioned. But beware, it’s by the train tracks and it can be VERY loud at night! There’s also a weird industrial smell that arises once it rains.. that can’t be good for you over a long period of time. The campground is basically in town, it fills up quickly in the evenings. It’s got a nice playground and docks to walk to. And bonus, it’s for gym equipment along the waterfront. It’s overall a great waterfront spot and even better because it’s free (donation box). Washrooms have water-filled toilets, and they are apparently cleaned once daily based on the signs outside! There is cell phone coverage throughout the area.

Great spot with pull through sites. On the lake and next to a city park. Shared this location with 8 or more other campers. Set up like a campground but free. A donation box was available.

Belle place pour dîner, table à pique-nique, banc avec belle vue sur l’eau

Report Check-In

beautiful place. i was supposed to stay only for supper but i will stay the night ! not 'free' anymore. they ask donations which is okay. there is also a common fire place with plenty of wood !!

Report Check-In

All nice but LOUDEST train ever several times in the night. Wearing ear plugs makes it acceptable.

Report Check-In

Nice and very well maintained. There is some shade and a shelter with picnic tables as well. In the shelter are sockets.

Report Check-In

just great, our previous speakers mentioned everything 👍

einfach toll, unsere Vorredner haben alles erwähnt 👍

Report Check-In

As described, wonderful public park that has a free campground next to it. It’s on a lake with beautiful views. There is a train, it does blow its horn but we didn’t hear it after 6pm. The bathrooms super clean! No shower, but great spot. Would return again.

Report Check-In

As others said, great campsite. FOC @ donations welcomed. Washroom is very clean even on weekend. Its windy on both days I stayed here. No shade to pitch a tent so you are exposed to sun & wind.

Report Check-In

nice place, by the water. campfire is not allowed. next to the campsite is a train track where a train runs along every few hours and sounds its horn 3 times. so also at night. :)

Report Check-In

Great free spot but does fill up so get there early. Does have mosquitoes! Playground is nice for the kids. Two night minimum. Bathroom was super clean. No showers. No water..But there's a dump station in town on your way out. There is a train that comes through. Didn't bother us. We sleep with the fans on.

Report Check-In

Still open and spectacular sunset! Nice pull through spots facing the lake. The trains were frequent and blow their horns due to a crossing but it didn't bother us 💞😉

Report Check-In

Very beautiful place and for free or donation ! Toilet are very clean. Some one comes every morning to clean up. Lot of place , with table. Amazing sunset on the lake ! We saw aurora during the night ! Just Amazing place. There are a beaver family next to the camp !

Report Check-In

Seven pull-thru sites, 4 back-in sites. Some lawn for tents as well.
Two night limit.
Beautiful lakefront location, can put in canoes, kayaks, sups. You can also swim down at the east end of the day use area.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Can’t believe this place is free. Long graveled sites and well maintained grass areas. Yes it’s a little close together but it’s only for a night. Trail system starts at the train tracks. Good area to walk the dogs. Washrooms were clean and are flush toilets. Train noise not much of an issue for us. Donations accepted but not required. Sani dump and freshwater available in the main town area for a $2 donation.

Report Check-In

Recommended. Lovely lake view. Safe and free.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot on Fraser lake. Beautifully kept grounds.

Report Check-In

Absolutely beautiful municipal campground. 2 night stay only. Right on Fraser lake. 7 pull through sites and 4 second row back InSites. Ky negative is there is no trees so. I shade from
The sun. Train tracks are right behind the campground ( see pic ) beautiful place to break up a long trip to Prince Rupert.

Report Check-In

What a gem!! Thank you Fraser Lake Community!! Exceptional site for a night. Trains -yes… bothersome- absolutely not! Probably the nicest free spot we’ve ever been to. UPDATE on the hwy 16 stickers at the visitors centre- no longer have those - but awesome little museum there. *****5 stars!!

Report Check-In

Great free spot as others have said. Wanted to add that you can hike the nearby 'mouse mountain' right from the campsite, which leads into a small network of trails. Definitely enough to keep you busy for a couple of hours. Trains loud a couple of times in the night
, but we just went back to sleep...

Report Check-In

AMAZING!!!
On the lake, free, and patrolled. Even in the greyness and rain it’s beautiful

Report Check-In

Perfect spot! By the lake, clean and fill with friendly people. You can rent canoe/paddle or just relax on the small beach. The only negative thing is the trains passing by at night... maybe not for light sleepers in tents!

Report Check-In

Amazing views, waterfront, super clean bathroom facilities, highly recommend!!

Report Check-In

Great spot at the lake. I second the other comments: the train during the nights is very disruptive. otherwise clean toilets with proper sink and utilities.

Report Check-In

Great place to camp right on the lake. Playground close by.

Report Check-In

Well described by others but wanted to make a point of saying if you want a good nights sleep find somewhere else. The passing train with its incredibly loud horn kept us up until around 2am then started up again at 6am. The tracks run alongside the campsite so it’s very disruptive.

Report Check-In

We were looking for a place to stay in the general area to break up a long drive. We’re self-contained in our 8 metre (25 foot) MH and don’t use the facilities. We stayed on a Saturday night in mid-September. We arrived late afternoon and took the last lakeside site. Most sites filled by the end of the evening. This is a nice, free campground on the edge of the lake. Ten diagonal level gravel sites are arranged in two rows – the lakeside row sites are drive through while the second row sites are back in. The grounds are meticulously maintained. There are no trees for shade or privacy (great for solar). There’s a washroom and trash bins. There’re no potable water or dump station in the park. There’s good ATT/Rogers and Verizon/Telus cell service. Trains come by every couple of hours during the day and seemed to run less frequently at night (or we slept through them…)

Report Check-In

Really great spot. Plenty of level spots. Clean and close bathrooms. Waterfront views. The train issue listed in other reviews is overdone. They only came every few hours during our visit and only twice at night. Sound isn’t that bad. Totally worth it for the free and beautiful spot.

Report Check-In

The park is very nice, mosquito free, and the fact that it's free is strange...until 11 PM rolls around and you realize the trains run all night. About one train every 1-2 hours, honking its horn as it's passes. You won't sleep well here unless you are a very heavy sleeper.

Report Check-In

Nice place to stay 2 days and free on Lake side.

Report Check-In

Beau grand parc près d'un lac, avec terrain de jeu pr enfants, appareils d'exercice pour adultes et abris en cas de pluie .

Report Check-In

As we couldn't find a good place "in the nature", we tried this one. Got the 1st one with undisturbed NW view to the lake, and not to any neighbor. That's how we can appreciate even a camping site. The facilities are really ok, and 2 nights max is more than we need... Telus 3bars

Report Check-In

Free. Perfect for big rigs. Limited to two nights.
It’s an ok, safe and easy spot. Nothing magical, even though the lake is nice.
Train is not that bad. I felt there were lots of traffic coming in and out, which is normal since it’s the local waterfront park : boat ramp, walking the dogs, exhausting the kids, watching sunset, hanging out, etc.

It’s possible to rent kayaks and paddle boards if you go to town office.

Flush toilets, picnic tables and garbage bins. No potable water.

Report Check-In

toujours aussi bien ...très bel endroit et station vidange top
👍👍👍

Report Check-In

The name of the campground is White Swan Park, and the lake is called Fraser Lake.
Great boat launch, there are canoes and paddle boards for rental only $15 a day. Great fishing right from shore, wild rainbow and lake trout.

Report Check-In

Agree with a lot of the other reviews. A really great free campsite. No shade, but fine if you have an awning. Was not many people there either. Amazing views and no mosquitos. Lots of grassy area and a park, plus easy access to the lake.

Report Check-In

Better than most campgrounds you have to pay at. No tree coverage so it'll get hot but it's a small price to pay for all the amenities. They also have a bunch of workout equipment, access to trails and swimming, and SOPs and canoes for rent.

Report Check-In

As the other entry says, but no shade for a hot sunny day (like today!)

No potable water but there’s potable water at a free dump station nearby - marked on iOverlander

Report Check-In

Beautiful setting. Minimal mosquitoes now. Very clean flushing toilet bathrooms. No water source. Only downside is 1 traintrack. Stops passing through about 10pm-5am. By far, better camping than some paid provincial s

Report Check-In

Nice place on the shore lake.
Flush toilets, some picnic tables.
Free - 2 nights maximum
The train horn was very very loud, even during night.

Nice and breezy, so no mosquitoes. Located down a hill and a few blocks from town, so feels very peaceful and quiet.

Great spot by the lake, nice sunset, spotless toilets. Trains pass by.

Nice place on the lake. Very clean. There were 2 trains in the evening and 2 in the morning but not during the night. Kids loved the playground.
