stayed here after riding the iron ore train. checked in at 1am which wasn't a problem at all, just message them beforehand to let them know. had a hot shower and there's also wifi available here when we stayed (although I'm still not sure if it was actually wifi or just a personal hotspot)! paid 800 for 2 ppl in a private hut

Wow, this place this is a little desert heaven. I can not recommend visiting this place enough. Ali and Abdou are the sweetest people working at the Auberge, they took care of me and made me feel so welcome. Ali speaks very well English, knows the area super well and is very helpful with finding transportation, tours, anything. I slept in a little hut and is was quiet and peaceful, a little windy and cold in the night but that's the desert for you. The reception is insanely vad if you have Mattel and really good if you have the other operator, there's a mast in the village.

This is a fantastic stop over in choum. Hademine and his brothers will bend over backwards to help you. Their English is excellent and pretty good French too. Possible to camp in 4x4 and leave vehicle here whilst taking the train.

We took the (4pm-ish+) bus to zouerat, overnight there and then the train back (1pm-ish). Hademine may be able to arrange private transport to zouerat in the morning for you - this will save time and money as you should be able to take the train back directly the same day. But check first!

He can also guide you to choum tunnel. Possible to do yourself in 4x4 but why not help out the local economy - it won’t cost you much.

Can’t recommend this place enough.

Amazing place to relax before/after the train ride!
They are VERY welcoming and helpful, have hot shower, comfy beds, common area and even european toilets !! i got invited to every meals and they have a stargazing place ! I really recommend the place :)

Perfect little oasis to chill before/after the train ride, right in front of the station!
The owners are absolutely lovely, they invited me to all their meals, let me do laundry, they have a really good shower system and european toilet, perfect common areas, beds are comfy :)

Very nice place. Well thought through with a lot of details. Just opened up again for one week after some maintenance.

We rent our ski glasses here and had a nice shower when we came back from the train ride.

Hademine is a very friendly and funny host.

Take the train from Zouerate to Choum it’s a great way.

We stayed here one night after taking the iron ore train with our bikes. We rented a small Tikit (traditonal house) for 500MRU (two persons). Friendly host, the shower was cold (but it was ok because warm outside). We recommend this place.

Apparently the only place for travelers in Choum. Established in the summer of 2022. Huts with toilets and shower. very basic but does the job particularly since there are no alternatives in and around Choum.
Food is available, prepared on order. do not expect too much but very decent. The staff is welcoming and pleasant.
