Very nice owners. I love that place.

There is a restaurant but bookings for food must be done the day before. There is a pool, bar, fishing trips and sunset cruises available.
We did not book. As mentioned we found this place by chance!
180 pp per night (May 2022)
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
this place is really cool. there are 6 campsites with private deck area right on the river. the nicest place I stayed in Namibia. there is wifi at the bar area which reaches campsite 1 but not the others. there is mtc signal. went on a sunset river cruise 300pp including 2 beers which was just magical. the colors of the sunset with hippos and crocs in the river. definitely recommend. all the staff are super friendly.
Report Check-InTruly an enchanted place! You get your own thatched roof with a sink and fridge and a view onto the river. All the buildings are made from red brick and there is a plant nursery with many palm species. We were showed around and even got to taste some oranges. Deon took us for a three hour river cruise on which we saw many birds and also hippos and crocodiles. Yes, the place is not labelled anywhere.
Report Check-InWonderful location right at the river. Every site with its own lappa. Ours even had table and seats from where we could observe the hippos. They came out eating on the angolan side. Croc swan along in the morning. Highly recommended.
Report Check-InVery nice, friendly reception. Hidden Gem on the bank of the Kavango River. We stayed in the chalets. AC & hot shower was a treat.
Report Check-InAMAZING spot on the river with your own deck and lapa hanging over the water, kitchen, fridge, sink, lighting and paved braai area. First look from the deck thought we has a rock bar up the river, but was about 20 hippos sitting in the middle of the river. Perfect spot for a few days to relax watching hippos and crocs. Bar and pool, immaculate abloutions and river cruises on offer. 180pp p/n, highly recommend, have never had a campsite with private deck over the water.
Report Check-InVery well equipped campsite with braai area, power and a private kitchen and fridge/freezer and lovely verandas with view over the river. Clean ablutions with hot showers.
Deon also offers fishing tours and has all the necessary gear if you would like to go fishing.
We enjoyed our two nights a lot, especially the sunset cruise on the river
Such a lovely campsite with the best bathroom we had in all of Namibia. Our favorite place at the Kovango! From our private deck we could watch a group of 15 Hippos. The boat trips with Deon are highly recommended. Next time we will do a day trip on the river and book a dinner. We will be back!
Report Check-InAll has been said. Attached plant nursery is like paradise. Great stay!
Report Check-InWhat a beautiful place! Lovely campsite with each its own kitchen and deck over the water. Lovely clean and hot showers. We paid Nam$180pppn. Deon is a friendly host. This place is a gem!
Report Check-InAs described. Paid $180pppn. We stayed two nights. We went for a day trip to Khaudum NP.
Report Check-InStunning place! 6 camp sites on the Kavango river. A place to park your overlander or pitch your tent, next to a tiled braai area with picnic table, and a thatch roof kitchen with sink & fridge + freezer (no stove) and a veranda with seating over the river.
There is also a little pond behind the campsite, so you're basically camping between 2 water edges. They also have 2 chalets.
As opposed to the earlier review, the ablutions are actually NOT private, but shared. 2 showers & 4 toilets.
Camp site 6 is the nicest (most privacy and the braai is also on the water instead of behind the thatch roof).
There is a communal pool and a bar. One camp site (4 I think) used to have a private small pool, but this is now inactive.
We paid 180 pp per night (sadc). Quiet and lovely.
Report Check-InThis was our favorite place on the Caprivi Strip. Google map tried to take us down a sandy road. Don't take that road! Drive a little further to a proper dirt road, go down that road until you come to the dirt road that runs parallel with the river and turn left. Follow Google Maps from there. There are no signs for this camp. Turn right and go to the end of the road where it meets the river. The camp is through the nice gate to the left. I've included pictures. The host is an avid fisherman and was very kind to us. We would definitely camp here again...we didn't want to leave.
Report Check-InWe found this place by chance! Lovely campsites on the river we are at nr 6 with its own braai area, basin for dishes, fridge freezer and seating on a deck over the river! Lovely!
Report Check-InMagnificent campsite on the river. Own kitchenette and fridge at each campsite. Super friendly staff and delicious food available. Definitely worth a stop for a few nights. Fishing and boat trips available. Lots of Hippo and crocs in the river. 150pp
Report Check-InAwesome campsite: the beauty of the site is surpassed by the kindness of the owners and employees. Great people, highly recommend it.
Report Check-InDefinitely to be recommended!
