Like others have already mentioned, it is still a very beautiful campsite with a very clean dry toilet, some wind protection and stunning views. The Argentinian Park Rangers do such an amazing job upkeeping these campsites. Extremely grateful.

Wonderful camping experience. Very quiet and surrounded by wildlife. Park ranger at registration is most welcoming - explained everything in perfect English and gave us a park sticker as souvenir. We came just before sunset and enjoyed the place by ourselves. Beautiful sunset and star gazing. Recommended to take the detour.

Nice and quiet place, we were the only visitors. You have to register at the ranger’s station first - stop and ring the bell, or honk, and wait. If necessary, repeat - sometimes they don’t hear neither bell or horn due to the wind. Very nice ranger! Gave us access to WiFi (which only works near the station, not at the campground)

Beautiful valley with campsite for tents and cars. No facilities, just nature and silence. It's not allowed to camp anywhere along the main road, but the 7 km detour are well worth the drive. It's greener, less windier and more silent. Enjoy!

Really nice campsite located in Parque Nacional Patagonia. Ideal to sleep if you want to cross the border to/from Chile. Would not agree with previous post about horrible road. Yes it is unpaved, wobbly and there are stones but we could keep a steady 40 a 50 km/h with our 2 WD mini campervan. Additionally, this type of road will go on untill Villa Cerro Castilla (Chile). The road was actually better than some parts of the Carretera Austral. You can sleep for free between the Guanacos and the ranger we spoke to was very nice and good English speaking. No showers and pit toilet but the toilet was actually really clean and less smelly than what we have seen at previous campings. There are picknick tables with wind sheltered places for cooking. We were the only ones there and we really loved this camping and experience. There are also hiking trails to the lake and miradors from the camping. Would definitely recommend!

Very nice camping spot along the road from or to Paso Roballos, or just in its own right. Good and well-kept facilities including decent wind cover (but don't expect miracles). Water at the ranger station 300 m away. Very enthusiastic park rangers and the possibility for some nice short walks

It's a beautiful camping. It has a sink next to ranger's house. Motorhomes can't dispose of any type of water in the Park (gray or black). There are wifi in reception.

The place is definitely quiet but getting here isn’t exactly a comfortable experience. I can’t agree with the post below saying that the road to get here is on or with the carretera austral! I’d say more like the horrible maldita 73! It’s a rough ride. But nice to cool down in the river and enjoy some alone time away from the summer holiday madness.

Great spot. Beautiful surroundings! Close to river and sheltered places for cars and tents. Worth the short detour :)!

Mais uma coisa.. estamos de barraca de teto e tem proteção para o vento, mais seguro do que qualquer lugar que vimos no caminho.

Não percam tempo procurando lugar para dormir na estrada. Venham direto no camping, é lindo!!! Vale a parada! Registre-se com o guarda parque para ajudar a manter o local ativo. @viajando.4x4

Hidden gem. Agree with the previous comments. The staff here are doing a great job. Remote and beautiful campsite. Clean toilet and water available. Wind protection for tents and vehicles. It’s no more than 30 minutes from Ruta 40. Ruta 41, connecting with Chilean X83 and the border crossing at Paso Roballos should also not be missed. This is one of the most scenic roads in South America. Vastly different on each side of the border. If your vehicle can handle the bottom half of Carretera Austral and the gravel parts of Ruta 40, this road is no worse (better conditions we think).

What a great place!
If you are looking for a retreat with peace and tranquillity: this is it. With very nice rangers (who don't understand why their camping is so rarely visited). I don't understand either.
Highly recommended!!!

Stunning spot in the valley, along the banks of the Rio Blanco. Camping and RV parking spot has some wind protection due to the trees but in general the valley feels less windy than up on Ruta 41. Highly recommend the detour. And there is no cost to enter or camp!

There are some short walks that can also be enjoyed.
