Belize
Very basic. Shared bathrooms but awesome hot showers. There was a place to grill and covered picnic tables outside, but no kitchen. Probably the cheapest place to stay on Caye Caulker if you don’t have a tent and don’t want to stay in a noisy hostel dorm. Ask the groundskeeper named Moses about conch ceviche.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Basic but spotlessly clean. Room with private bathroom is bz$45 and with shared is bz$33. Great location near the ferry. Great value and best price on Caye Caulker. Basic showers and no hot water when I was there.
Report Check-InSame as everyone has said. Cheapest place on the island,
-30bzd big room(1big bed, 1 single bed, 2 fans. with shared bathroom
-40bzd room with private bathroom (fans, no a/c)
-80bzd entire cabaña, private bathroom, full kitchen, only fans no a/c
112bzd air-conditioned room, not sure if it has a private bathroom
overall a great place, good location, good price, and friendly owners. As an update to the post from the last person who stayed here: NO BEDBUGS FOUND :)
Report Check-InWe echo the other posters. Clean, well kept, comfortable, and very cheap.
HOWEVER- We found BED BUGS during our stay. It wasn't until about 3am on our last night that we caught a couple. When I showed them to the owner in a bottle she was visibly upset. They do take pride in the property and I'm sure the critters were brought in from another place.
However, despite laundering our bags and clothes before moving back into our cozy camper, we're now dealing with our own infestation. Awesome.
Report Check-In$30 bz for a big room with two fans, sink, double and single bed. Bathroom block has hot showers and there's a grill and single hob under covered area outside. Tricky to find, if lost go to the south end of the football pitch, there is a waist-high gate directly opposite on the other side of the road, between middle and front streets. Cheapest option on Caye Caulker and still good value.
Report Check-InAll still as reported previously. Still seems to be the least expensive option on the island - we (two of us) paid $15USD per night for a room with shared bathrooms/showers. There was 1 double bed and 1 single bed, so could have easily fit three people. Room was clean, fans were lovely for the hot weather. Owner seemed sweet, based on the limited interaction we had with her. Check-out time is 10 am, which did seem a bit early to me.
Report Check-InSandy lane is definitely the best budget option on the island. Not much signage--across from the soccer fields. No wifi but simple clean rooms. Really sweet owner. $17 a night for a room with private bathroom and fans.
Report Check-InVery clean and spacious rooms but rustic. Shared showers and toilets very clean. Upstairs rooms have lovely breeze. B27.50 (yes - $12.00!) for three people for bare room with basin. Convenient and quiet. Also has cabanas and privates. Contact is by phone only. Very good deal.
Report Check-InBasic but clean accommodation and extremely cheap. Hot(!) showers. We payed 25B$ for 3 Person sharing one room. There are other very nice accommodation on the island with pool. They more or less relative cheap - so u can choose how much you wanna pay. :)
